My daughter loves books and was lucky enough to get this book for her third birthday.
---About the product:
The Disney Princess Stuck on Stories book is a combination storybook and 10 princesses with suction caps on them. The princesses included in this book are Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Snow White and Tiana. The book comes with an oval hole in the front which is thick enough for the figures to be stuck down and then closed. Each figure is made out of hard plastic with a flat back where the suction cap is fitted. The front of the figures has the design of each of the princesses on it and they are coloured to match. They are each in their most recognisable dress from the films although their features are not excellent.
The book itself is like a board book and has a surface that allows the suction caps to stick easily. The first page has silhouettes of all the princesses in the colour that matches their dresses. On the next pages, there are several different scenes that you can add the princesses to. One page shows some of the animal friends that the princesses have with a space where you can stick the princesses down. Another page has little facts about the princesses with silhouettes next to them. One page has some scenes form some of the films which you can add the princesses to and the last page has a single image which you can add all the princesses to.
---Using the product:
My daughter didn't know much about the Disney princesses when she first got the book so it was more about matching the plastic shapes to the little silhouettes and talking her through telling her all about the princesses. As she got older, she started watching the films that went with these and she has since enjoyed playing with this book and telling me all about the different princesses. She is easily able to put the figures onto the silhouettes and enjoys putting the figures onto the little scenes. The figures are the right size for her to fit in her hand and she can stick them down easily. She does find it hard to get them off again as they stick down quite firmly and I generally have to get them off for her. Now she is 4, she can get some of them off herself, but still likes to play with it with me so I can help her.
We've really enjoyed this book and have used it on numerous occasions in the year we've had it. It is a good book to take out with us for something to keep her occupied and can be used in the car as well. The pieces are a good size for us as they are not easily lost and are easy to hold in my daughter's hand. The only downside for me is that there is no fixed cover that keeps the figures in place which means that the pieces could easily become lost when travelling as some of them do tend to fall off on their own! The book costs £5 in most places that I have seen. I think this is a really good price for it and would happily buy it again.
My daughter received this for her 2nd Birthday in March. I have since seen it in Asda for £5.
The book is recommended for ages 3 and over, although I think it is suitable for a younger child.
The book is like a box, it consists of several board pages and in the front of the book there is a plastic housing to hold the pieces. This means it fits neatly together to store or take with you on the go.
The book consists of 10 pages on each page is an activity for your child to complete using the suction cap figures provided. In the set you get Tiana, Mulan, Jasmine, Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Arora, Pocahontas, Ariel and also Rapunzel. The figures are made from a solid plastic and each one has a different colour suction cap on the back. The figures are quite big so I didn't have any concerns my daughter would try to eat them, luckily she is fairly good and doesn't chew on her toys!
The activities inside the book include matching the Princess with her friend, there are shadows on the book as guides so you child knows where to place the figures, so for example Rapunzel matches with Pascal and Ariel with Flounder. On another page you get the Princesses ready for the ball by again sticking them in the right spots. There are also pages with backgrounds from Disney films so your child can be creative and make their own scenes.
The book does have a few paragraphs inside mainly about what the princesses like to do and the friendships they have.
The book is laminated and made from cardboard so it is very durable, even if sticky fingers get on it you can simply wipe it clean.
I was a bit concerned that as my daughter was below the age group recommended she wouldn't be able to use this book however she suprised me and she can stick the characters on herself with no help! The characters are really sticky and she sometimes needs help to pop them back off. We enjoy talking about each Princess and what colour her outfit is etc. I think this is a lovely interactive book, it is something that you can enjoy doing with your child and it is perfect for a Disney Princess fan. We have fun creating scenes and making up our own stories together.
I would recommend this book, we have since purchased a Minnie Mouse one and I have also seen a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse version.
I would give this 5 out of 5.
