      Advantages

      Disadvantages

These are a cheap fun toy

      WHAT ARE THEY?

A two pack of bottles for baby dolls.  One has got milk in it and the other one contains orange juice.

      THE DESIGN

These are magic baby bottles so they look full up when they are upright but when you tilt it to the dolls mouth the contents go down so that it looks like they are drinking.  It is a clever optical illusion and made by having two layers of plastic making a channel around the bottle, the liquid is only in this channel and doesn't fill the whole bottle so that it goes into the top when it's tipped.  It's very clever and a traditional toy, I had one when I was a child.

      WHAT I THINK

Each bottle is about 9 cm tall. I think the milk one looks best because it has got a pink top and it looks more natural.  The bottle that has got the orange juice in looks wrong because babies do not drink dark juice like this and with the top also been orange it makes it look very dull.

They both work very well and the milk and orange juice disappears quite quick then when you turn it upright again the liquid reappears quick.  The bottles are easy to hold and the teats are good because they will fit into baby dolls mouths that can be fed and the short teat helps it to look like it is being  drunk even if the dolls mouth does not open.

They are both quite durable and are not as flimsey as these bottles used to be. My daughter had her last ones for about 18 months and it was only a week ago that we threw them out and that was more because she didn't play with them anymore and we had to make room for her Christmas and birthday toys.  After all that time they were a bit scratched on the plastic but that was all and they still worked.

      ANYTHING ELSE

These cost £3.99 for the set of 2 bottles and I think that is good value for children who like playing with dolls. The age minimum is 3 years.

~*~*~ Dolls World Milk & Juice Bottles ~*~*~

My niece often sleeps over my house and of course it isn't just herself she brings but a whole host of stuff too, lately she has been bringing 'Neil' ( I have no idea where she got the name from!) her little boy doll. She brings with her a little nappy and change of clothes in his pram bag, as well as his pram and travel cot but what she didn't have for him was a baby bottle and she often asked for a lend of one of my little ones bottles, of course I didn't mind lending her his bottle to feed baby Neil but when I saw these in a local independent shop I couldn't resist buying them as a little treat for her, she was coming up on the weekend and I knew she would be ecstatic with them.

The set cost me just £3.99 so they certainly don't break the bank, I would of happily paid around the five pound mark for these as they are pretty decent and my niece does love them.

The set came backed on a simple card sheet and were covered over with the usual clear plastic casing, this was easy to remove by simply pulling on a corner piece which allowed the plastic to come away from the card.

Inside the pack are two little bottle that stand at around 3 inches in height, the milk bottle is a clear bottle with white 'milk' coloured liquid inside this one has a pink lid and teat and the juice bottle is clear with a light orange coloured liquid inside the lid and teat of this one is yellow in colour. The lid and teat are one whole piece and cannot be removed from the bottle.

As usual my niece arrived with baby Neil in tow along with all his bits and pieces, after she had some tea I told her I had bought her a little present and when I handed these over she was so excited. She was even more excited when she saw that Neil was drinking the milk!

As the bottles are tilted the milk magically reduces in the bottle until it looks like there is no milk left, she really loved this and I remember having these as a child and loving them just as much.

The teat part of the bottle is a little on the large side and doesn't really fit in Neils mouth but this hasn't seemed to bother my niece in the slightest.

I have been questioned about where the milk goes as she knows that Neil isn't really and can't actually be drinking it and I simply explained it as being magic which she quite happily accepted! Mind you it's actually quite simple really, the bottles have two parts and the milk sits in the gap as it is tilted the milk just hides in the lid part and then 'magically' reappears when the bottle is placed the right way up, this is something that I could never quite figure out as a child and my Nan also had a sherry glass with the same principle and it took that to explain to me how it all happens ... My granddad spent a good hour showing me haha!

For the price I paid I have been more than happy with these, my niece is thrilled with them and takes them with her whenever she drags Neil about with her, she has had them now for about a month and she is by no means a gentle child and they have survived her so I do think the quality is quite good.

She loves the magical element of these and watches Neil 'drink' the milk in awe. Oh, and she much prefers the milk bottle to the juice one as babies must drink milk to make them strong lol!

      Thanks for reading :o) x

A refreshing drink for your dolly- in milk flavour or orange too!

These bottles are amazing and lots of fun. I remember as a child I was always fascinated with them and could never work out their secret (and I'm not telling now either) and I remember I would be quite envious of my sister who owned a set for her dolls.

The idea behind these is a simple one. One bottle contains orange juice, another one milk. At first glance they appear full but when you put them to your dolly's mouth and tip them up, the liquid magically disappears! Almost as though dolly was drinking the contents! Amazing!

Of course there is an explanation for this that is actually quite unamazing and the whole thing is really just an illusion (I am afraid to tell you that dolly doesn't actually drink the contents ~ I know, shocker isn't it?) but like I said earlier, I still refuse to tell!

What is good about these is that they are extremely well made and very hard-wearing and durable so even if they get flung about, it is unlikely that they will break. And they are cheap. Our set cost us somewhere around £2.50-£2.99 I believe.

I have heard stories about the liquid inside evaporating or solidifying but this must only happen if the bottles are damaged or cracked as, three years in to owning these, ours still work perfectly fine and my daughter loves using them to feed her dollies, toy dogs, cuddly kitten, monkey etc etc etc I could go on.....

These are a great little toy, as I have already said, and a great accompaniment for your existing dolls accessories that are available from a wide range of stockists including Amazon of course who seems to sell everything nowadays! Prices can vary though you should not be expecting to pay anything over £3 or £4 at the most!

And the secret.......well, I am afraid unless you google it, that will have to remain a secret because I still won't tell.....

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Good value

I bought these for my daughter and her dollies as I remember having these as a child, amazing how they haven't changed, but then if it isn't broken don't try to fix it.

The mystery of these bottles is easily explained by way of there being an outside layer of plastic and an inner layer, when the bottle is standing up the two layers are very close together which spreads out the liquid making the bottle seem full, when you tip it up, the liquid empties into the lid which has more room. There is very little liquid used in fact :). I worked this out a while ago when one of the milk ones I bought dried out and there was only a small trickle actually moving about. The mystery of these bottles does not seem to be questioned by children, even though the teat area of the bottle is too big to fit in most average dollies mouthes, they accept that the dolly must be drinking it. The nativity of the young, such a shame we lose that. These bottles are very well made and for £3 for two, this is a good buy. The bottles are very hardwearing and even after being thrown into toy boxes and bounced on the floor; these plastic bottles do not break or crack. After a little while the liquid inside can evaporate and this stops it flowing so easily, but for £3 it is no real hardship to buy another set.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

great toys from dolls world - definitely recommend

After reading some reviews about these bottles on here I quickly looked over to Amazon and put a pack of these Milk & Juice bottles in my wishlist! My daughter is 3 years old and quite a creative and imaginative person and loves talking to her dolls as if she's their mum, pushing them around in their prams etc so I just knew she would love these!

They are at the moment selling for £5.99 which is steep but last week they went down (as I notice prices of products on amazon fluctuate day by day!) and they were only £2.95 with £1.95 delivery. This is reasonable at £4.90 altogether and I had some change from an amazon voucher so got her these as a treat.

Delivery was fast, only 2 working days and they arrived attached to a cardboard backing with plastic covering. This was super easy to open and my daughter grasped the concept of playing with these very quickly! They are amazingly realistic as when you tip the bottle upside down the juice/milk disappears and when upright it refills.

This gives my daughter great joy and happiness in the illusion that her dolls are actually drinking the juice and milk! She does get a bit frustrated as she wants to know how it happens and keeps asking me to open it!

These bottles are quite small, but for my daughter's age I think these are size appropriate and she can hold the plastic bottles comfortably and has so much fun pretending to feed her toys (and sometimes even herself lol!)

I think these are great value as they are inexpensive, durable and a brilliant idea. I would definitely recommend these to anyone with little girls (or even boys!) who love playing with dolls and keeps them entertained for ages!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Good fun and lovely to watch my daughter feeding her baby and her reaction to the fluid disappearing

I purchased the Dolls world milk and juice bottles last christmas on Amazon. I got them mainly for my little girls stocking fillers along with other Dolls World accessories.
The set cost only £3.99 free postage and packing.

Dolls world milk and juice bottles can be used for role play with a variety of dolls all sizes. Ok the bottle top does not fit in any of my daughters dolls mouths however she just holds it up. These are two small hard plastic dolls bottles with pink lids that don't come off. The magic fluid is in the bottles one an orange colour to look like orange juice and one white to look like milk.
One tipped upside down the fluid starts to disappear and looks like they are empty and once that has happened you turn it the right way up and the bottles slowly start to fill back up.

My daughter likes these little play doll bottles and role playing the feeding routine with her baby dolls. It did frustrate her the the bottles did not fit in the holes of her dolls mouths to start with but got over it quickly. Another frustrating issue was the bottom of each bottle is slightly rounded so they cant stand up and when she puts the bottle down on its side the fluid starts to disappear.

These are definitely fun bottles to play with and the magic of the fluid leaving the bottle as she feeds her dolls has won her over the negatives.
The bottles measure roughly two inches tall so great for little hands to hold. Any girl of any age that loves playing with baby dolls would like these.
I would recommend the Dolls world milk and juice bottles to add fun and imagination at a cheap price. Recommended.

            Disadvantages

Dolls world milk and juice bottles

I used to have one of these milk bottles when I was a little girl and so was excited to find one for my little girl to play with as well. I was also quite excited to find that you can get an orange juice variety of this bottle too that comes in a pack with the milk bottle as well, how exciting.

My little girl loves playing with dolls. She has got to that age now (two and a half) where she always takes her doll with her wherever she goes and like to play with her, put her to bed, feed her etc. When we leave the house we always have to make sure, otherwise there will be tears, that we have little baby with us as she likes to call her and her milk bottle otherwise baby will get hungry and sad and cry without it. She absolutely loves these bottles and they are great fun to play with and cheap toys that keep her very well entertained.

Each bottle looks like a babies bottle which is nice although they probably look like babes bottles of old where they were quite long and thin rather than the short ones we use today. The milk bottle is white and made out of plastic and has white liquid in it and at the top it has a pink plastic teat that is attached to the bottle. The nice thing is that you cannot take the top off, its just part of the bottle. I like this as my little girl always wants to take lids off and play with items separately and so its nice that they don't come apart and we don't lose any bits.

The orange juice bottle is a yellow colour and has yellow liquid inside, well the colour of orange juice really and has a yellow plastic teat on the top. The best thing about these bottles however, is that they are magic. Tip them upside down and the liquid disappears!! When you hold them up to a baby dolls mouth and feed the baby its as if they are drinking the liquid and I think its great for my little girl to see this and think that she is actually properly feeding her little baby and that the baby is happy she is getting milk and juice. Its such a clever little toy and one she gets hours of enjoyment out of.

I have always wondered where on earth does the liquid go though, you can still se  a bit when you tip the bottle up as its doesn't disappear completely and you can see the liquid bubbling and foaming a bit at the top but most of it does disappear and then when you turn the bottle upright again the liquid comes back, its magic!!

I think this pack of bottles cost me about £5 from Amazon and its been a very good buy.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Fantastic addition to any doll collection

My daughter has really been into her dolls, pushchairs and role play involving her dolls. She received new dolls for her second birthday in November and has been attached ever since. The one thing she didn't have with her dolls was milk bottles. I remember the bottles from my childhood where the milk would magically disappear so went on the hunt for some for my daughter.

The set I come across and purchased was this Dolls World milk and juice bottle set. I bought it from Amazon for around £3. It is a little expensive for what it is but I couldn't seem to find magical disappearing bottles anywhere else so didn't mind paying it.

The bottles come packaged inside a transparent plastic sleeve that is backed by a sheet of cardboard. The packaging does seem to be a bit excessive as the bottles are quite small and the packaging is quite large! After opening it up you are greeted with two bottles these are both around 10cm in height and a couple of cm's in diameter, they are both mainly transparent so you can see the liquid inside. The milk bottle obviously has white liquid inside, it is topped with a pink lid with a teat shape on top. There is also a juice bottle included with orange liquid and a yellow top.

Both of these bottles are magic, when the bottles are tipped up the liquid drains away so it looks like the dolls that the bottles are held up against are drinking what is inside. It has always baffled me as to how this magic happens. I've spent ages peering into the bottles trying to work out how the liquid disappears and I haven't come to any kind of conclusion!

My daughter loves including these bottles when roleplaying with her dolls, quite often I will find her sitting with her doll on her lap giving her a bottle of milk or juice. They are quite small so they are easy for her to hold and lift gently. Despite them being played with a lot more than her other toys, these bottles are still in an amazing condition six months down the line.

I'd definitely recommend buying these bottles to include during role play. My daughter loves hers, and they brought back happy memories of my childhood. Just be warned, the magic is baffling and can get quite annoying not knowing how they work! Can anyone enlighten me?
