Advantages: Pretty figurines
Disadvantages: Wings broke off a few
The ELC Wonderland Castle Fairy Children are the perfect accompaniment to our pink castle. Although we don't have the castle that goes with the fairy children they work great together.
The fairy children are very small figurines that are beautifully detailed. There are three fairies and two elves. I think this means that they are aimed towards boys as well as girls.
The figurines are lovely pastel colours which are just right for fairies (pink, lilac, mint green, pale blue, yellow etc.) They are solid and not hollow like some of them look.
As they are solid you can't move their arms and legs which is a shame but if they were able to move it may have affected their look. Despite this fact they can stand up. The two fairies with long dresses stand up well but the other three take a bit of effort and with children fidgeting and knocking the table they often topple over.
The elves both have something in their hands, one of which is holding a green leaf and the other a beautiful flower which I think may be a yellow rose. The fairies are all completely different, one has a pretty pink flower in her hands, one has roses and leaves around her waist and head and the other is a simple design with a pink dress, blonde hair and purple wings wit her hands beside her side. Unusually the children have no favourites of the fairy as they all look so pretty.
The fairies each have a tiny amount of glitter on them which makes them shiny and sparkly as fairies are. The elves on the other hand do not have any glitter which is probably because they are boys and boys don't like girly glitter but they look nice as they are.
The children love playing with them and when they were moved the other day they kept asking where they were. This shows just how much they like them. They are always playing with them and unfortunately the wings have broken off some of the fairies and elves. We tried to glue them back on so not to disappoint the children but maybe we will have to buy some more. They do really love them.
We also have other wonderland fairies which you can buy separately for £3 on Early Learning Centres website. These are very similar and just as gorgeous as these.
This set is priced at £10 on the Early Learning Centre website and it is worth buying these pretty fairy children.
The children let their imaginations flow with these fairies and elves. They are predominantly used by girls but boys join in as well. The fairies are always being mixed into Polly Pocket play as the Polly Pocket accessories are small enough to use with the fairies.
These are an excellent toy which can be used with almost anything. I would definitely recommend them for any children who love fairies. With a bit of imagination they will be off on plenty of fairy adventures.
