Fisher Price My Baby Newborn Stroller Xj
Advantages: Well made/Sturdy, Big enough for baby Annabel, Scarlet loves it.
Disadvantages: Not very big.
As I was struggling to buy Scarlet Christmas presents this year it didn't seem that anyone else was. My main reason for struggling was A) she already has so many toys and B) everything seemed either too young or too old for her. I obviously wasn't looking hard enough because both of her Nannies and her Auntie Lucy seemed to know exactly what they were getting her. As they have spoilt her rotten and found some lovely toys that she adores I have come to the realisation that I am just fussy.
One of the many Toys that her Nanny (Mr Kimbles's Mum) got her was the Fisher Price New Born Deluxe Play Set. She loves Dolls and Prams so I really am shocked that I never thought if this one. Fisher Pricey are a well known Children's Toy brand and we have used their toys before. Some of them are fantastic whilst others have been not so great. Scarlet previously had the 'My First Pram' set for her first Christmas off her nanny but it wasn't big enough to put her Annabel doll in.
I can't actually find the age range on this item and as Granddad had already assembled the item I didn't have the box to check. But it is quite a small pushchair in height and as Scarlet is already 2ft in height I think it may only last about a year for her. I would say the Stroller comes to about knee high. Scarlet actually has the deluxe version of this item which comes with the Doll, Car Seat and Changing/Feed bag but the stroller is exactly the same.
I am unable to advise how hard it was to assemble as Mr Kimbles's Dad had already done this before they wrapped it up for Christmas for our monkey. But when asked (for reviewing purposes) he said it was too bad and that is all I got out of him. Typical man. Once built though is seems to be a sturdy little thing. It comes with green wheels and looks the same as a Travel System that you would buy for your newborn.
The material on the pram is a pink flowery design with a bar the goes across the front with pink dangly toys to keep the doll entertained on. This is also where the Car Seat rests when it is used with the pram. The car seat also comes with the same material and a white handle so Scarlet can carry her around. Unfortunately though Scarlet has also got her head and arm stuck in it. Don't ask me how but it took a while to get her out. Then the changing bag is again in the same material. It turns into a changing mat also.
The contents of the bag comprise of a feed bowl, spoon, a bottle, a plastic jar of baby food, a dummy and a cereal box plus a little dolls bib. Apart from the bib and box the rest of the contents is made out of sturdy plastic, the box is obviously made of cardboard and the bib out of card. The bib was so flimsy that Scarlet has ripped it already trying to put it on her doll. Plus the box now looks a bit worse for wear.
The doll itself comes with a cute little outfit and a little bonnet. It is about 20cms in length and looks really cute and quite lifelike. Her body is cloth which makes the doll soft to touch with plastic arms and legs however, there are no dangerous parts in case you little monkey fall on t whilst running around.
As soon as Scarlet saw the pushchair was so excited, she got her new doll straight out for cuddles and then proceeded to push the pram around the house for about an hour non stop. She loves looking through the bag to see what she can give her baby next or take the car seat in the car. The pram is really easy for Scarlet to push and she can also pick it up to get it over the step into our conservatory. It is also really easy for her to put the car seat on.
Mr Kimbles's mum paid £49.99 for this pram set on Amazon and even though it is a great set I think this price is a bit expensive in case it only lasts a year. I would recommend this item but must advise that it may not last long.
Summary: Something else for me to be run over with.
