Fisher-Price have started to produce a range of these fantastic 'snap 'n' style dolls which are suitable for children as young as two! Most little children like the idea of having dolls that they can dress and undress and change their clothing, but if they are very little with little fingers they find it very difficult to manipulate all the different items. The problem is solved with 'Snap 'n' Style' dolls as you will see.
These dolls are really quite clever because rather than actually having to dress and undress the doll, she comes with a range of outfits which you quite literally snap onto the doll and they attach to the body! My daughter has the doll called Tamara so I will describe her.
The doll stands at about six inches tall. She arrives in her own special box wearing only her underwear, which in her case looks like a swimming costume! She also comes with a number of tops, skirts, hat and dresses which are all very brightly coloured. She has a wonderful mane of long dark hair and also a little brush which you can use to style it. She has a pair of flip flops imprinted over her feet but there is another pair of shoes which you can add over the top of these!
Therefore your little one has everything she (or he) needs in order to dress the doll in a variety of different outfits! As I said at the beginning these outfits literally snap on and attach to the doll! So, as you can probably guess, they are not made out of normal material but out of plastic and are moulded to the shape they would be when they are being worn - for example the skirts and dress are quite billowy! But heres the clever (or some might think strange) thing about these clothes - they only have a front and no back! So when you have selected the clothes you want the doll to wear and put them on -from the front she looks quite ordinary but if you look at her back you can still see her underwear! This might seem quite bizarre, but actually reminds me of the cut out dolls that I used to love to dress as a child, which you could also only see from the front!
Once you have got used to this though I don't think it matters at all, and I have to say that my daughter has had a lot of enjoyment dressing her doll, and has managed to attach everything herself without needing any help from me.This is quite liberating for both of us and means that she can play with the doll quite independently.
There are a number of dolls in the range and they all come with a lovely range of outfits. My daughter has since acquired another one, and as they are all the same size, the outfits are interchangeable between the two. I can see that it won't be long before we get more and then both my daughters will have great fun making up all sorts of gameswith all of them!
They are quite reasonably priced in my view - we bought Tamara from Tesco for £8.97. All the bits seem quite tough and easy to clean, and as it states on the box that it is suitable for two years old plus, there are no little bits to worry about!
Mix, match, snap and style! This sweet doll is a perfect dress-up friend for even the youngest girls. Chunky feet make her easy to stand, and snap-on clothes make her easy to dress. Its fun to comb and style her soft hair, then mix and match clothes and accessories for any number of activities. Collect all the Snap n Style Friends, with lots of outfits to mix n match!
