My daughter Lauren first discovered Sylvanians when she found some in the bottom of my wardrobe which I had brought in the sales for my niece. She is a few years older and I didn't even think if giving these to Lauren as I didn't think she would like them (as they don't really do much) but I was wrong - she seemed to instantly fall in love with them and we haven't stopped spending money since,
We have a couple of sets of twin babies now, and although the downside of these is that their arms and legs don't move, Lauren seems to like the baby ones better, but this may be due to the fact that the most of the accessories that we have are nursery themed. I also find that the babies tend to be on offer more frequently and you can pick them up for around £3 - £4, which although may seem expensive for two little figures, it is quite a good saving against the RRP (approx £7) and cheaper than buying a full set of family figures which retails for around £15 (plus, the other half doesn't moan as much if I spend £4!)
If, like me, you have a little one which loves Sylvanian's, I would always recommend shopping around, the RRP of these items is ridiculous but there are always lots of bargains to be had and I have never paid full price for anything we have brought from the range. Argos, Amazon and John Lewis always seems to have some good discounts and on the run up to Christmas, Toys R Us always have a 3 for 2 or a free set of animals with a £30 spend offer - This is when I tend to stock up. The list of products available is huge, every year Flair bring out a new set of animals or accessories, prices vary depending on what you buy baby animals can be purchased from around £5, sets of 7 animals are normally £20 and accessories and houses range for £5 up to £120
In the set are two little koala bears called Kylie and Jason Billabong (which because I grew up watching Neighbours, I loved!) and they both measure around 2-3 inches in height. Jason is on all four in a crawling position and has a little blue nappy on; Kylie is stood up and has a little pink nightdress on. There are also two little accessories in the set; a baby's rattle and a little teddy bear. These are really quite small which is why this set is recommended for 4 plus, but also why we have lost both items! Like most Sylvanians, the attention to details is excellent and you can tell what animals they are at first glance.
Being a working mum, I don't get much quality playing time in the evening with Lauren, so most weekends, out living room turns into 'Sylvanian Land', the figures really bring out Laurens imagination, even more so when she incorporates her accessories such as the house, caravan etc. Its lovely to watch her play and some of the things she comes out with are so comical, the most recent being when Kylie was not doing as she was told and mummy Sylvanian saying "that's three times I have told you!"
Overall, I would recommend these and give 5 out of 5 stars, for the price I paid.
Thanks for reading.
Kylie and Jason Billabong are opposites, Jason is a quiet boy who loves reading books while Kylie is noisy little girl who loves to sing and dance. Jason wants to grow up to be a fossil hunter and Kylie plans to be a pop star. Includes 2 Koala baby figures with 2 toys
