My daughter has just recieved this for Christmas, it's a delightful doughnut shop.
It includes over 30 peices; The actual stall with two trays which sit inside the shelves, a table, scales, 2 tongs, tong tray, 2 cups, 2 doughnut boxes, 12 doughnuts of 6 varieties, 2 teddy cupcakes, 2 breadsticks, 2 serving platters with cup holder, 2 matts and a tea pot.
This set is lovely, the doughnuts look like strawberry and custard, toffee and custard, chocolate, chocolate dipped, plain and strawberry. When it's set up with all the doughnuts on the stand as shown in the picture above it's great. My only small criticism is that for larger hands it's hard to get all the doughnuts on the shelf (that's because I like joining in!!) however for dainty little hands for which it is designed for it's fine!!
The little families can come along to the shop and buy their doughnuts to take home to eat. As always Sylvanian have made this sturdy, it doesn't fall over easily, the only thing is the tongs look a little flimsy and I've had another pair of tongs from another set break on me, but handled with care they should last well.
This can be bought at present (Jan 2014) - £9.99 from the Sylvanian shop plus £1.99 postage, I have seen it a little cheaper at times in the sale and can be bought from Debenhams, John lewis, Argos and Tesco.
WHAT IS IT?
A doughnut stall set for use with Sylvanian Families figures. There is no figure included with the doughnut stall set but it's suitable for any adult figure to serve doughnuts.
It's an old fashioned wood look stall that looks like the Krispy Kreme stands in Tesco Extra stores. It's an open stand with room to arrange the doughnuts so that they are displayed instead of being piled on each other. There are 28 pieces in this set including 12 doughnuts and two cakes. As well as the doughnut stand there's a table that can be used for figures to stand up and have a cup of tea. There are two boxes so Sylvanian figures can take their doughnuts away but because they are so small they could be lost easily so my daughter doesn't take them far away.
THE FULL SET
It costs £9.99 and for that you get the doughnut stand and table, 12 doughnuts, 2 cakes, a set of tongs, 2 mugs, 2 takeaway doughnut boxes, a tray with 2 liners, 2 breadsticks, a set of scales, a teapot and 2 plates.
WHAT I THINK
The detail on this set is wonderful even by the usual high standards of Sylvanian Families. You can see the sugar strands on the tiny doughnuts and the little cakes are shaped like teddy bears. This is my favourite small set because it looks so cheerful and every piece in the set is worth having.
My daughter set hers up outside one of the Sylvanian houses and she doesn't ever move it to another area. She doesn't have one figure that she uses with this set but I think the mother Silk Cat looks the best serving doughnuts. The set makes a good tool for imaginative play because the figures have a meeting place and a starting point for conversations and adventures.
The only thing I think is missing from this set is a chair but my daughter uses a high backed chair from another dining set.
