“ Betty Boop Figurine „
I'm Betty Boop mad and if you are familiar with my reviews you will be aware that I own rather a large number of figurines. This adorable character has rapidly taken over my living room, as neatly stored at one end are five Ikea glass cabinets that house my huge collection. Unfortunately, my collection has come to a halt, as I cannot store any more and this review discusses a figurine I was lucky enough to receive at Christmas and her name is French Betty Boop Walking Pudgy.
Betty is manufactured entirely from resin and stands at 12 inches in height and weights approximately a kilogram. She is firmly fixed to an oval shaped pink base where we see her cute little dog, Pudgy. It is very rare that we see her little friend, as in all of the figurines I own Pudgy only appears five times. If you are familiar with Betty Boop you will be fully aware that she loves displaying her bare flesh and this figurine shows her wearing a rather revealing red skirt, which has a huge split, which reaches to her thigh on her right leg. The design and painting of the figurine is simply superb, as we can see tiny creases in the resin, which create an illusion of fabric. Betty wears a pretty long sleeved white top with narrow black stripes and around her neck is a red scarf, which is neatly positioned on the one side. To complete her French outfit she wears a cute little red beret, which is perched on the top of two of her black glossy curls.
Betty is a lady who absolutely adores her shoes and nearly all of the figurines I own show her wearing extremely high heeled stilettos. In this French figurine we see Betty wearing fairly high heeled white boots, which reach above her knees and to match her skirt, beret and scarf the boots have a pretty red striped insert. Pudgy stands faithfully by the side of his mistress and is safely secured by a black corded lead. The features on her cute little dog are simply superb, as the manufactures have created tiny paws and small black patches on his fur.
As in almost all of the figurines I own Betty wears some stunning jewellery and this piece shows her wearing huge gold bangles on each of her slim wrists and a matching pair of golden hoop earrings. Betty is quite famous for her black glossy hair, which is depicted by eight cute points, which run along the top of her head and further curls alongside her hair line. As Betty's beret rests on the curls on the one side of her head we are only able to see six of the cute little points. Betty's facial features are simply adorable and rarely change from one figure to the next where we are able to see her huge stunning green eyes, long black eye lashes and ruby red lips. To complete her make up she wears a small amount of blusher on her cheeks.
Cleaning my figurines is somewhat of a challenge and whilst I clean my house twice a week I simply cannot bear the thought of dusting all of my figurines at the same time. Consequently, they receive a brush over with a small clean paintbrush a few times a year! To ensure your figure's authenticity, the manufacturer, namely The Hearst Holdings Inc always stamps the underside of the figurine with a small image of Betty together with their name.
As I did not purchase this figurine myself I have checked on Amazon for an up to date price and would advise that she retails for £38 plus £4 postage and packing. You will also be able to find this gorgeous figurine available for purchase from most Betty Boop retailers and she comes with my huge recommendation. All Betty Boop figurines are well packaged and are surrounded by polystyrene in a sturdy cardboard box. Consequently, French Betty Walking Pudgy receives a full 5 stars from me.
I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
