I bought this set for my daughter as I wanted a highchair for her doll to be able to sit with her at mealtimes. We really struggled to find one which wasn't ridiculously priced or of sub standard. Then we came across this Graco set which had everything included....
The 6-in-1 playset is priced at £29.99 from Argos, although it is available in many other places for a similar price. The set includes a stroller, travel system, travel cot and a travel seat which can also be turned into a high chair or a swing. It has been designed in a baby pink and pink flowery design, which looks quite nice on the pictures, but is not very nice when you take it out of the box. The colours of the material get dirty easily.
The Graco set it designed for dolls which are up to 18 inches/46cm, although my dolls of that size had trouble fitting into the travel seat (plus obviously the swing and high chair)! The set is designed for 3 years and upwards. As the set is so small, it would only be suitable for a limited period of time.
I did have a few concerns regarding this set, as the bar for the swing is pretty lethal (a little sharp and a little too easy for children to remove and start swinging about). The sockets which connected the legs of the swing and high chair come loose constantly-to the point where it actually irritates both myself and my little girls. The cot is very flimsy, plus all the other items except the stroller are very unsturdy when you place a normal sized doll in them. We had to go out and buy another doll (36cm) to fit the set as my daughter was so disappointed.
I would not recommend this set to anyone, unless you want to keep taking it to pieces so that you can alternate between car seat, high chair and swing. This gets particularly annoying when your child keeps changing their mind. Very expensive for what it is!
My eldest daughter was bought this set for Christmases ago when it was on offer in Asda in their usual £15 toys for Christmas deals.
The set comprises of a pushchair, a car seat, a high chair, a travel cot, a swing and a changing bag. All the items came packaged in a cardboard box and had to be put together by an adult before they could be played with.
The decoration of the items is pale pink with brown and a darker pink flowers on which I wouldn't have thought was the best decoration as I would have liked it to be more brightly coloured.
The items were pretty easy to put together however the car seat is also the seat for the highchair and for the swing and my daughter was not happy about this as she wanted to put one baby in the swing whilst she fed the other baby in the highchair which obviously wasn't possible.
The basis for the highchair, the swing and the travel cot are metal tubes which fit into little plastic connector pieces, they are pretty sturdy being metal pieces but we found that the rods kept coming out of the connectors and it was pretty much just a waste of time and effort especially when every time my daughter put her baby into the travel cot it came apart.
The car seat is made of pink plastic and has a liner in the same material of the pink and brown flowers inside it, the car seat has a handle for your child to carry around their baby which my daughter liked to do. The fastenings for the baby to go into the car seat fasten with Velcro and aren't exactly the strongest so more often that not if tipped the baby would fall out.
The pushchair seems pretty flimsy just like the rest of the set however over two years later my youngest daughter enjoys whizzing up and down the living room with this so it has actually lasted rreally well. The handles wiggle from side to side and the wheels clatter from side to side as it is pushed but it is still going and besides dolls both my daughters have decided to sit in this on numerous occasions and it has never broken.
The swing uses the car seat and you have to attach the car seat to the frame made with the metal rods with Velcro, if you put a doll which is too heavy into the seat then it will topple the car seat part forwards as the weight makes the handle move. The car seat is also used as the highchair but this time it sits on top of the frame and has a tray which holds the dolls in a little better, the high chair was an ok part of the set it was just that in the end the pieces which made the frames were no good and had to be thrown away so then the swing and highchair couldn't be assembled.
The changing bag is a little strange in my opinion as it is a piece of fabric in the same decoration as the rest of the set but it fastens along the sides with Velcro. The Velcro pieces are quite narrow so it is hard for a child to line them up, I think the idea is that it is a changing bag which changes into a changing mat but it isn't the best of ideas.
My eldest daughter played with the whole set a few times but she got fed up of it all falling apart and since this set has never really played with dolls even when we bought her a decent doll and pram last Christmas she has no interest.
The set is cheap and it certainly looks it too, I wouldn't have bought this as a present myself as it was on display in Asda so you could see what the quality was like but this was from a family member who always like to buy something which makes it look like she has spent more than she has. The rods and connectors went in the bin after about a month or so and then that left us with the changing bag, the pushchair and the car seat, the car seat has been sat in my daughters wardrobe for ages now with her having no interest in it at all but the pushchair is still pushed around a lot. I would suggest paying more for a better set or buying just a simple pushchair and car seat set.
Just before Christmas our daughter's toy pushchair finally broke. She was quite upset as she loves pushing her dolls around the house. When my Mum asked what they could get her for Christmas, I suggested a toy pushchair. What we ended up with was this six piece play set from Graco. Our daughter's face was a picture when she saw the box. As it was all flat packed it was left to one of the grownups (i.e. me) to assemble everything together.
I was initially worried about the space this set was going to take up. Comprising of a pushchair, high chair, swing, cot, car seat and travel system. I quickly realised with a little relief that despite calling itself a six piece set, the pushchair, travel system and the car seat are only two items which create three different ones. Good marketing on the box by Graco, but a relieved parent here.
The high chair, swing and car seat all merge together as well which help with the space saving. You actually end up with three pieces of equipment that you can make into six different pieces just not at the same time.
Putting the pieces together was relatively easy. Everything was bundled together in its relevant section and at most the cot required poles to be placed through the material and clicked together. Everything appeared quite sturdy and strong on first glance. The pattern on the each piece of equipment co-ordinates and is nice and bright in girly pink and purple pastels. It's not too garish but definitely girly.
My only initial worry with this set was the pushchair. It's quite difficult to set in position, and I would worry that any child who manages to release it from its vice grip would hurt themselves as the pushchair closes. All the other pieces are easy to change around easily though.
So you have a pushchair that will turn into a travel system once you place the car seat onto the pushchair. Our daughter manages to do this easily at three and a half years old. The swing and high chair uses the same base (and also the car seat), and she finds it a bit fiddly to place the car seat onto the frame to make a high chair. Making the swing is easier as it's a case of looping Velcro straps through the car seat.
The cot is a standalone piece of equipment and doesn't require any adjusting to use it.
The age range on the box states it's suitable for 3-7 years, but I would say that once a child gets to around five then they will be too big to push the pushchair comfortably. It does come across quite small in height but suits my daughter perfectly now.
The price of this set varies from around £20 to £35. My Mum paid £20 for it in the Argos pre Christmas sale and I would put that price as about right. I wouldn't be happy paying more than £30 for it as I don't believe it's made well enough. Whilst sturdy, you can tell it's from a cheaper variety as the metal poles are quite thin and wouldn't take a massive amount of child torture.
Our daughter has played with one piece of the set every day since Christmas and it has certainly opened up her role play with her dolls. It's enabled her imagination to go further when playing, and for that reason, I think this was a good buy.
I bought the Graco 6 in 1 dolls playset for my 2 year old for christmas. I didn't really look into it much and didn't read the details i just looked at the picture on the box and thought- a pushchair, travel system, travel cot, swing and high chair and travel seat, for £19.99 wasn't a bad buy at all.
The playset came in a suprisingly small box, everything came in pieces with easy to follow insructions on how to put each item together, upon looking into it I found out that the highchair also doubles up as a swing, so you can only have one or the other at one time.
The pushchair and travel cot are lovely, and fairly good quailty , very study and made up with strong material.
The problem I had was with the highchair / swing. The travel seat which is used for both swing and highchair needs to slot on to a metal frame to make the highchair, which is not too bad, but the seat is too small for many of my daughters dolls.
The main problem I have found is when you try and make the swing. The chair is attatched to the frame by 2 velcro straps, but as soon as you put a very small doll in the 'swing' it just tips and the doll tips out - much to my daughters fustration.
Maybe it is something that I am doing wrong in setting the swing up, but I do find it to be very flimsy and is certainly not possible to use as a swing.
Overall the playset is ok, my daughter loves it, but really you are paying £19.99 for a pushchair and travel cot, so would be best trying another dolls set or just buying a pushchair and travel cot on their own.
'Set includes travel stroller, travel system, swing/high chair and travel seat' as take off the Argos website. This is the only information supplied by Argos so I think that the picture is very important in the promotion of this item as well as the limited information given.
By looking at the picture and reading the description given I believed that the items in the box would be, the stroller pushchair and car seat - which together make up a travel system, a high chair which could also be a swing and then a travel cot. Although this is kind of what I got it was not made clear that the car seat also made up the seat unit for the high chair and the swing. This means that when your child wants to play you have to move everything around. Fine except we all know how bored children get playing with one thing and how quickly they want the next. This meant that I was forever changing it all around so my daughter could play with the item how she wished.
The size of this product was also an issue for us. The car seat was that small that unless your child has a tiny doll then you will find that it is no good as a lot of dolls are far too big for this item. My daughter has a baby Annabel and another bog standard doll and unfortunately neither of these fit in the seat very well. If the doll is just slightly heavy then the car seat just falls back which really frustrated my daughter, we also found that it did the same when used as a swing as the seat is connected to the frame by two fabric straps which do not hold the seat unit well and as a result can take no weight.
The best item in this whole set and the only thing that ended up getting played with was the stroller and the travel cot, so all in all an expensive gift for those two items alone.
The quality of the items are OK - nothing special but not bad for the price, Graco just need to take into account the sizing of things for it all being able to work properly and be cost effective for the purchaser. Alternatively they need to make the measurements of the items clear so that if necessary a suitable doll can be purchased, although it your child already has plenty of dolls this could be seen as an unnecessary outgoing. I think they also need to make it clearer what is actually in the set and how it works as otherwise it can mean you are disappointed.
The graco 6-in-1 playset seemed like such a good purchase at the time but this was soon clear it wasn't as good as it looked.
This set came with a little single stroller, a car seat, high chair, swing, travel cot and a little bag that i think was supposed to be the changing bag. The title is very misleading on these contents - nowhere does it state that the car seat - which can be used as a travel system - is used for the high chair and the swing (it is pretty obvious but i still feel it should be stated). On the plus side it did all fit in a fairly small box so it is easily stored and it would be easy if you wanted to take it on a holiday or to the grandparents.
******Useability (if that's a word!)******
On first inspection, the stroller is extremely flimsy and cheap. Yes, it was bought for a fairly cheap price but for the graco make you'd expect more. The handles on the stroller felt like they were going to fall off at any second and the stroller itself looked like it was going to snap. The handle height was a decent size though so we kept it thinking that our little one would get a lot of use out of it before we bought her a new one when she was a little bit older.
The car seat is made from plastic with a little bit of material over the middle, it would have been much better to put the material over the whole carseat but then i suppose their profits would drop from that little bit of material they would have to use. This liner is removeable though so should your little girl get her sticky fingers in it or mud from outside then you can easily put it in the machine and out it should come, sparkling new. This car seat can be clipped onto the stroller to form a travel system by placing it over the bar - we tried it but it looked as if it was going to fall back out at any second. This car seat is also used to make the high chair and the swing.
The dolls swing has to be assembled, which you'd expect. There are three metal bars, two velcro straps, two plastic corners (to allow it to swing) and the car seat. This is very easily assembled and the car seat attaches to the velcro straps so it can easily be taken off again (a must seen as the entire set uses the same seat). This is quite a nice swing and works easily. It definately doesn't look as cheap and tacky as the stroller and my little girl would have loved it. (we put it away again for xmas).
The high chair is used from the same bars as the swing and you just have to clip the car seat onto the bars. You would now attach the tray to the highchair so it looks more realistic. This didn't look quite as sturdy as the swing because clipping it in could have been designed far better.
We never got around to putting the travel cot up but it didn't look overly complicated. It seemed to consist of metal bars and material and looked as if you just slot the bars through the material. It looked as if it would be quite sturdy but i couldn't say for sure.
This can be bought in argos usually for £19.99 however, we purchased it for £16.99 in the sale. This is definately not worth it if you ask me, even at the reduced price. For graco named set you would definately expect more.
On the box it states that this dolls set can be used from 3 years plus but to be honest i think any 3 year old would break it extremely easy. We bought it for our one year old thinking we could give her the stroller and car seat and save the rest for a later time. It broke within a week and she wasn't being rough with it.
I'd definately give this one a miss and spend that little bit more to get a decent one. I think dolls accessories and these sets are a fantastic idea for any toddler, but you have to remember kids will be kids and they need to be sturdy. I give this one star only because you can't give it less.
This is a lovely pink dolls playset. It is actually a 5-in-1 playset not 6 as title says. You can buy this playset from Argos for £19.99 and is suitable for children over 3 years. The set includes: Dolls travel stroller, travel cot, highchair, travel seat and baby swing all with the marking of the brand Graco on.
This dolls set is one of the cheapest in Argos as it is quite basic but is still good. If you're after more stuff to go with the set i.e. bouncer, play gym etc.. Then there are other sets available at slightly higher prices.
The set comes in one box that is easy to store as the travel cot etc can be folded down. Now a bit of information on the bits it comes with:
The travel seat has little straps on it so you can fasten your doll in and it has a big handle over the top of it that makes it easy for your child to carry.
The baby swing is made up using the travel seat, 2 big plastic corners and 3 metal bars that come with it. The swing is very easy to make up you need to get the two metal bars that act as the side of the swing, and fit them into the big plastic corners. This works as the side support for the swing, then you fit the small pole in-between them. The pole has already got 2 Velcro straps attached to it. The pole then fits into the small gaps making it look like a swing. You then need to put the 2 Velcro straps onto the handle of the travel seat, once there securely on you can then put the doll in it and swing them.
The High chair is made up very similar to how the swing is. Except The travel seat slots into the top bar instead of using the Velcro, and then you put another bar behind it stopping it from moving. There is also a small tray that you can fit onto the front of the travel seat so it is like a feeding tray on the high chair.
The stroller there's not much I can say about the stroller as it's just like any other doll push chair. It easily folds down making it easy to store and has little straps on it to keep the doll in when pushing it around.
The Travel cot is made up of lots of metal bars and corners. You will be able to tell which bars to use as the legs as they have small pieces of plastic on making it sit comfortably on the floor. You then need to push the metal bars through the material. This will make up the travel cot which has netted sides.
I think this playset is great my daughters had hours of fun with it. The set is smaller then I thought. Which was ideal as I was a bit worried of how much room it would take up. The set itself is quite easy to make up but you will need to help your child do it. I think it's great how the set all fits together using the same bits as it saves having loads of poles everywhere. This set will help your child with there role play. I think it is also good as they can learn about different things that babies have and they will hopefully play calmly with there dolls.
The only negative things I can say about this set are that when it isn't set up, and the poles aren't fitted in they can be slightly dangerous. As a couple times I caught my girls taking the travel cot apart and running around with the poles so I put the set away. But when it is all set up it is safe and will create hours of fun. I think that the set should of also had a doll free with it then it would be already for your child to play with.
The Graco 6-in-1 playset is a lovely set that will beloved by any little girl (or boy as it does come in a blue colour aswell ). The set consists of a doll, a buggy, a car seat which can be attatched to a frame to be used as a high chair or swing and also a carry cot. my daughters set also came with a spare change of clothes for the doll.
The buggy is very lightweight. much like the single buggy available from Asda and other stores for around £5. the handle hight is perfect for a child around 1-3 years. i wouldnt recommend this for younger babies, especially whilst learning to walk as it would tip due to being so light weight. the seat is made from a washable material which is great for sticky fingers.
The car seat again is very light weight. it is made from pink plastic when coming with this set. again the car seat is available from Asda for around £5 seperatly and comes in pink or dark blue. the handle is adjustable and the seat liner is removable and can be washed. again great for sticky fingers. the car seat clips on the the frame that is provided in the set so can be used as a high chair. it can also be added to the frame using 2 pieces of material that have velcro on, so can be used as a swing.
The travel cot again is made from plastic and the same material as the pram and car seat linner. the doll fits comfortably in here but it ended up becoming a storage box for toys in our house as my daughter wasnt really fussed with it. all of the items in the set fold down which is great for storage.
The doll is a cute little soft boddied doll that comes dressed in a playsuit with matching bib and hairband. my daughters set also came with a spare pair of trousers and a little jumper.
we paid £20 for our set and i know there is another version available with a stronger pushchair that retails for around £30.
This is a lovely gift for any girl or boy who enjoys playing with dolls. it is also a great idea if you are having another baby so that your little one can have the same items as mummy or daddy.
Includes stroller and infant carrier which make a travel system when used together, pack 'n' play travel cot and a 2 in 1 swing and highchair.
