      Very helpful

A great toy for baby loving little ones!

For my daughter's recent fifth birthday she really wanted a baby doll - but she had already got so many baby dolls that I was a bit reluctant to get her yet another one that would be just the same as all the others. Then a friend of mine told me about My Little Pony So Soft Newborn which is a different sort of baby - and it definitely is.

You can see from the picture that this baby looks more like an alien than any of the typical baby dolls that you can get. But it is pink which is always going to go down well with my pink loving daughter. As soon as she got this on her birthday she loved it and has been looking after it ever since.

The newborn, which is known as Sky Wishes is quite small and light. It's probably only about ten inches in length and has very pink skin and hair that is tied in a bow. It's face is made from some sort of plastic whereas the rest of its body is a sort of towelling which will not be easy to wash if it gets spilt on! It has moveable arms and legs which move when you press its paw. The baby also has a nappy which can be partly detached but does not come all the way off! I'm not sure why it does not come all of the way off but at least it means that it does not get lost.

The baby also talks which my daughter thinks is delightful. It is meant to have over twenty sounds and phrases that you can hear when you press the same paw that makes it move. I haven't counted all of these but at first we seemed to be hearing all the same ones over and over again. After having it a while though I do think there is a good spread of different things that it says. The baby has a sweet but high pitched voice which sounds OK but might get a bit annoying after a while. It does have a pretty adorable laugh though.

One of the things we like about the newborn baby is that it comes with its own backpack which converts into a playmat with it's own arch with toys hanging down. This is quite clever and my daughter loves changing it between the two. The backpack has some velcro straps to keep the baby secure but these are a bit tricky and my daughter aften asks me to help her with these.

Overall, I do think that this is a very good toy and so far has given my daughter hours of enjoyment. As with all baby dolls, it really does stimulate a young child's imagination and allows them to invent lots of different role play situations.

It's made by the Hasbro who make all of the My Little Pony prodycts and you can find out more by visiting

I bought this toy in Woolworths where it was originally on sale for £29.99 which I don't think I would have paid. However, when I bought this, Woolworths were doing a fantastic deal where it was on sale for half price and it was also part of a BOGOF My Little Pony deal which meant I bought £60 worth of My Little Pony products for only £15. I don't think this offer is still on but it's always worth looking out for deals.

Overall this is a very good toy from a good maker and we thoroughly recommend it for any child from the age of three upwards.
