We purchased this accessory set for the Malborough House also by Pintoy that I have reviewed on this site.
This set could be a useful addition to any other 1:12 scale dolls' house on the market; ELC, www.gltc.co.uk and www.letterbox.co.uk sell various houses which this house could be used with.
As with all the pintoy accesories these items are attractive, painted and the finish is good. There is a washing machine with a door that opens, ironing board and iron, clothes basket and drying rack and one shirt. The hoover is not the upright sort and has sturdy rubber wheels that turn.
I suppose the idea is to encourage role play - the child can get the doll to hoover, wash and iron. The set costs £10.50 from John Lewis and the guide age is 3 - however I can't see any reason why a younger child couldn't play with this item apart from the fact that the iron is a little bit small.
In practice it has been a useful addition to our house and been well played with - my child particularly enjoys putting the clothes in the machine and making the noise. She also likes the hoover - we have a similar hoover but a child with an upright may be confused!
We haven't played with this toy roughly however the pole on the hoover has snapped twice now and is rather flimsy - it broke easily I suspect as it is wooden and not plastic.
It would perhaps have been nice if rather more clothes were included - the dolls the house come with do not have removalable clothes and one shirt is a bit mean!
This is not a very exciting set but does help equip the dolls' house - some of the other sets available are much better value for money, hence my slightly low star rating.
I suppose anything that encourages kids to take an interest in cleaning and washing can't be a bad thing - maybe later on my children might actually load the washing machine rather than creating endless piles of laundry - I hope so!
Includes a washing machine, clothes basket, an iron and ironing board, a vacuum cleaner, clothes airer and T-Shirt.
