The Polly Pocket Mega Mall is a must for any fashion conscious young girls. It comes in a huge box and extends to a height of 61 centimetres providing ten different fun stores for Polly Pockets to shop! As you can imagine it provides hours of fun and shopping enjoyment for all little misses everywhere. It's with toys like this that most young girls' loves of shopping begin!
As you can see from the picture the mall does look quite magnificent. All of the stores are based around a central elevator that does actually rise up in the centre providing three different storeys. This can be brought back down again and when all the stores are closed up it suddenly becomes rather compact which is handy for storage. When you first get the mall there is a certain amount of putting together but not too much and none too difficult. We have noticed though, that since the girls have been playing with in on a fairly regular basis, that one or two of the decorative bits have come back. Also, sometimes the different stores come apart but so far we have managed to put them all back together without any problems - touch wood!
There are lots of different stores too. These include a fashion boutique (obviously), a hair salon, a music store, jewellery, sweets, a pets' parlour and even a coffee shop - everything you could possibly need under one roof! The walls of all the different stores are brightly decorated and there are lots of accessories such as shelves, counters, chairs, hanging rails, etc. In fact everything that you would expect to find in a proper sized fashion mall. Also, the set comes with a few Polly Pocket dolls and lots of fashionable clothes to be sold in the shops. My daughters already had some Polly Pocket figures and clothes so they have all been added in together.
The one thing to mention about all the Polly Pocket items is that they are incredibly small and fiddly. Younger children do find it difficult to actually fit the clothes on the dolls and my four year old is always asking me to help her which does get a little tiresome after a while. My six year old does not have any problem though. Also the shoes that come are absolutely tiny and could so easily be lost if you are not careful. As all of the items are so little though, it is definitely not a good idea to play with this when there are very small children about.
When you get the mall out to play with you can open it up be inserting a large credit card in the slot at the bottom. When you do this the doors all swing open and the elevator shoots up loudly. It's quite a sight to behold and my daughters really enjoy closing and opening it up time and time again. Once open though, there are so many opportunities for imaginative play that it really does keep them occupied for hours.
I really like this mall as a toy that keeps my daughters occupied but it does concern me a little at how easily some bits come apart. You do need to have reasonably robust toys particularly when you get the odd squabble about who is playing with which bit!
The RRP for this toy seems to be £49.99 although I have seen lots of offers for it, probably because at that price it is too expensive. I paid £24.99 at www.thetoybox.com and I have just noticed Amazon also selling it for the same price which is much more reasonable!
Open out playset using the Polly Pocket credit card! Clear lift to travel between floors! 10 stores, 3 floors and Polly figure with 60 fashions and accessories!
