Advantages: Cheap and decent quality
For the past month or so, Kai has had a particular interest in sorting through and organising all of his toys. He will move them from shelf to shelf, box to box, room to room. He has such attention to detail! We have a very small, pretend shopping basket and he had started placing things in there and taking them all over the place.
I first thought about getting him a small dolly pushchair when he first started doing this but only got around to getting him one a few weeks ago. I know some parents will wonder why I bought my son a dolls pushchair, but I'm not one to limit him to just boy toys and I like to see him explore new toys and experience new things, not just the same old toys.
While I was looking for a dolly pushchair which wasn't *too* girly I came across this 1, which has a nice balance of a blue and pink colour scheme and I ended up buying it. It was only £7 which I think is an excellent price and well worth it. Kai is only 13 months so although this is very small it is slightly too tall for him, but he can still push it around and he doesn't tend to grip the handles anyway, he just pushes against it.
It is best suited to children over 3 years according to the information provided on the website that I bought it from, however Kai can still use it reasonably easily. He needs help at times especially when it's full, and because it doesn't hold that much I often need to help him try to understand that he will need to come back for the rest once he's sorted out the toys already in there.
The wheels move freely and don't jam up, which I was quite surprised by as it is so cheap. It does feel quite cheap and not very sturdy but it is decent quality and hasn't broken in the 3 weeks if daily use Kai has had out of it so far. It is easy to store as it just folds down and putting it back up is quick too. Kai wasn't put off by the slightly girly design and he really enjoys taking his toys around the house. He's taken it in the garden onto the grass and mud a few times and the wheels were easy to clean with a disinfectant wipe afterwards.
The pushchair has kept Kai's attention and he has got so much use out of it. It doesn't look shabby or worn after the amount it has being used and I like how light weight and easy to transport it is - it can be folded down and out in the car so it is not limited to just being used at home.
