If you have read my other reviews you ill know that my daughter is peppa pig mad and at her birthday in January this is one of the toys she received. The toy is made of durable plastic and considerably well made compared to other Peppa pig toy.
The carriage comes with the carriage itself which is made up of 2 connected parts the main carriage coach the seating area and the horse at the front that pulls the coach. The coach has 4 seats molded into it to hold 4 different characters. As the seats are molded they are supposed to help hold the characters in place but sometimes these can be a bit of a fiddle and do not work too well and you have characters falling into each other.
The horse has a seat from knight George to sit although all characters are also able to use the mould for him so its nice for little one to have the choice. The horse and carriage both have wheels on them that do move so little one can roll the princess carriage across the floor.
Also with the carriage comes 2 figures knight George and Princess Peppa. These are special royal figures but they are slandered size which means they can fit into this toy but also any of the other toys in the Peppa pig range as can figures received with different sets can fit into this toy. They do not really do much although they have moving arms and legs which means they can sit or stand but that is about it.
Our main disappointment with this toy was the size. We purchased it from amazon and it looked nice and grand on there but when we received it to be honest it was terrible. It is tiny compared to other vehicles in the Peppa pig range and so for the price of £14.99 I was disappointed. Saying that my daughter loves it and it accompanies her princess palace and tower she gets plenty of use out of it and I suppose her verdict is that it is a good toy.
I would recommend this toy to any Peppa pig fan but I would wait for it to go on sale which it often is as it is not worth it's £14.99 retail price you are just paying for the name.
For easter this year i bought both my girls a toy instead of chocolate eggs mainly because they get so much chocolate and sweets from family members.
Hannah is peppa pig mad, she already had a few peppa puzzles and dvds. Whilst browsing amazon looking for a nice peppa pig themed present for her easter i spotted peppa pig princess dvd and one she did not have as it was only £3.99 i bought it and then spotted the cool peppa pig princess royal carriage toy so thought it would go well with the dvd.
Peppa pig royal princess carriage at the time i bought it from amazon was reduced to £7.99. The price seems to jump up and down on the toy on amazon and costs £10.99 at full price. Toys r us also stock the peppa royal carriage.
When the toy carriage arrived it was alot smaller than i thought it would be but was in attractive peppa pig packaging and could see the carriage before opening the box. The packaging was a nightmare to get into and has silver ties on every part holding it in the box this part was time consuming must have been at it for 20 minutes before i could free the toy.
The carriage measures two inches long and two inches wide, made from plastic.
The peppa pig royal carriage comes with two figures princess peppa and sir george. The small characters don't do much really you can move the legs and make them stand or sit, arms also move in and out that's all. The characters are nice and bright lots of detail.
The carriage is made from plastic with movable wheels, their are four seats so handy for adding more characters into the set like peppa pigs ladies in waiting can be purchased separately as can the castle. The carriage is pink in colour with small silver flecks giving it a slight sparkly look. The horse pulling the carriage is white with wheels, their is a seat on the horse where sir george sits, george sits very secure on the horse and does not fall off.
The horse and carriage can be separated with a simple clip in motion, the peg is on the horse and a small hole in the carriage for attaching.
Hannah was over the moon with peppa pig royal carriage toy and has played with the toy all week especially when the dvd is on and she rolls the carriage back and forth on the table. The carriage moves easily and the wheels go round. The only frustration for hannah was princess peppa figure keeps slipping off her seat on the carriage and she got really upset about that but using a tiny blob of blue tac princess peppa now stays in her seat.
I think the set was good value at the price i paid and i am glad hannah is enjoying this toy.
I only give the royal carriage 4 starts because of princess peppa not staying put in her seat.
Highly recommend for the crazy peppa pig fans.
My daughter loves Peppa Pig and was very excited to see the Princess Peppa range come out (my husband and I were not so excited at the price tags!). Her excitement was fuelled even further when she realised that Princess Peppa now had a horse drawn carriage to sit nicely outside the palace.
The set consists of one horse drawn pink carriage, a Princess Peppa figure and George as a knight. And it looks a lot better in the packaging. It looks more exciting and definately looks worth the £14.99 we paid for it but I was disappointed with it when we got it out of the box for my daughter. Though she was clearly thrilled with it. Out of the box it looked cheap and not as higher quality as previous Peppa Pig toys. In all honesty, to me it looks as though it is something which has been knocked out to be a money maker. Peppa Pig is huge already and has a huge toy collection. The Princess Peppa sets are a bit pointless really seeing as there is only one Princess Peppa episode.
The carriage although looks strong, if a child were to stand on it by accident, the bit which holds the horse to the carriage would snap very easily. The wheels appear to be on tightly but they are small so if you are giving this to a younger child, please do supervise them just in case. The same for the wheels on the strange looking horse. The other problem is with George's helmet. The front of it does come off quite easily which is disappointing when the Peppa figures from the past have been so well made. Another thing to watch out for if giving to a smaller child.
The horse is white and looks more like a rocking horse than a real horse and there is plenty of space to sit George or whoever you wish to sit there. There are 4 spaces in the carriage for further characters for the Peppa range to sit in, for example, Peppa Pig's ladies in waiting. It moves along best on laminate flooring and it is sturdy when being pushed along. It doesn't topple over easily or anything.
It is a nice toy and like I have said, my daughter loves it but there are definately some flaws with it which parents do need to be cautious of. I don't think it was worth £14.99 - more like £7.99 but the makers know kids love Peppa and the parents will eventually buy it. But if you can, definately wait until it goes down in price.
Peppa Pig Princess Carriage
Another love in our house with our two little ones is Peppa Pig and so to add to the collection we bought this Peppa Pig Princess Carriage. It comes with a horse drawn carriage and two figures, the first of George dressed as a knight and the second of Peppa dressed as a princess.
I will state this now that this toy was a huge hit with our little ones though on hindsight I doubt I would have bought it. We purchased it for £14.99 and it looked so much better in the packaging than out of it which happens a lot. For the money I really do not think it is worth it. Again, you pay more for the name/brand.
The carriage itself is pink with a white horse pulling it along. It is sturdy and can easily be pushed along though there are some small parts which are a worry about them coming off with rough handling you get from young children. So far though no accidents have happened which is a relief. The horse is rather flat looking and made of flimsy plastic. There is a space for George to sit on easily to pull the carriage and there are no problems getting him to sit on it. The horse is very easy to bend and if too much force is put on it can break from the carriage easily. The carriage is a little sturdier and sits four figures inside securely.
The figures are as the general Peppa Pig figures - pretty well made and quite sturdy with the added attraction of the princess and knight get up. The only problem is on George's knight helmet which is poorly made and part of it does not attach at all. We have taken this away for safety reasons though this is a large flaw you should not have to put up with when paying the money you do for this product!
Overall, I think that although the children love it, I would not recommend it as it is poorly made compared to many other toys.
Princess Peppa's RoyalCarriage
A Right Royal Rip Off (But the children love it)
With Christmas just been and gone in a flash, my daughter has received many new toys from Father Christmas as well as many members of the family, and one thing she got many of is her favourite Peppa Pig toys.
I do have a more substantial review on Peppa Pig if any of you want to read more about who this lovable character is, though just to fill those of you who do not know about Peppa Pig let me introduce you quickly;
Peppa Pig is a childrens show which can be found on Nick Junior and Channel Five Milkshake. Each episode is five minutes long which is great for young children's attention spans and follows a family of Pigs which includes Peppa (a bossy yet lovable girl Pig), George (her younger brother) and mummy and daddy pig as well as many friends of the pig family, each a different animal.
This particular toy comes in a simple open front box which is decorated in the well known colours of Peppa Pig with a lovely picture of Peppa on the front. This design is easily recognisable to all young fans of the show and is quite eye catching. I would like to point out here that I brought this item off of Amazon and in the pictures, the item and box looks a lot larger than what it actually is so be careful!
The carriage sits within the box tied to the box with the usual fiddly security ties which take forever to untangle, though at least no damage will occur from the toy falling out. On the back of the box is some Peppa Pig advertising with more colourful pictures.
Quite a basic packaging as you would expect for these types of toys, though one thing I can say for a plus point - it does not waste packaging like some toys.
As already mentioned, this toy is a lot smaller than you originally would think, coming in at the measurements below;
23.8 x 8.5 x 9 cm ; 341 g
Included with this toy is a horse drawn carriage with two small figures, one of Princess Peppa and the other of Sir George. This is it.
The white horse comes already attached to the pink carriage though can be easily taken apart either by adult intervention with a simple twist of a screwdriver, or (and this is a definite negative point!) by the child by a simple rough play. The horse bends quite easily down and pulls away from the carriage - too much of this will easily break it. This is not the only point in low durability either.
The horse is a plastic white and very flat to look at. The head seems to be a softer plastic and can easily be bent. It has a simple eye, nose and mouth decoration to the face though no other decoration which is a shame. The feet of the horse are attatched to four small red wheels which do seem securely tightened onto the legs which is good as these are very small though do go round really well when the toy is being pushed. On the top of the horse is a space to sit George. This space sits any George figure in perfectly though is a little small for any other figure in the Peppa Pig range. This doesn't stop my daughter from trying though.
This horse is then attached to a sturdy pink carriage which is open topped to sit four figures in. These spaces are perfect sized for Peppa Pig figures and all her friend figures. They sit in these spaces securely without falling out which is great. The decoration of the carriage is rather simple with the main colour being a bold pink with blue wheels and a blue cover which is attached to the back, though this does not open or move - decoration only. The only other decoration is a small crown on either side of the carriage. Although rather slim in decoration, the carriage does not look bas by any means. Each of the wheels on the carriage go round well when the toy is pushed and are quite secure unless they are pulled really hard which is harder than my daughter would be able to.
Included in this pack is two small figures. These figures are of Peppa and her brother George, each in costume which makes them stand out from other figures. Of course, the other figures in other play sets can be used in this set as well which my daughter loves doing. Both figures have the usual movable arms and legs which if not careful can be snapped off, though I am lucky that my daughter is very careful with these and treats them as precious stones!
Peppa Pig is dressed as a princess (hence the name of the toy!). Her dress is a silvery pink colour with small decoration of a necklace on the front which is decoration only and is firmly attached to the figure as is the crown she wears upon her head. George is dressed as a cute little knight and holds a small shield which is also firmly attached to his hand. On top of hi helmet though is a visor which looks as though it should be able to move over his eyes, though the attachment of this does not allow for this. All it allows for is it falling off as it just does not stay on or fit right. This has caused frustration in my daughter as it just keeps falling off no matter what we do. This can also be lost easily due to this. It is not tiny though can fit into a mouth so we have now taken this off permanently to ensure our daughters safety. This, in my opinion, is very bad designing on the creator's part and risks safety and fun of the child.
The overall look of the toy is average compared to other Peppa Pig toys, and looks a lot nicer in the box than out. It is a simple push toy with no batteries required which is good, though to be honest, it certainly is not worth the price paid and its low durability is a definite point to consider before purchasing this item. My daughter does love this toy due to the fact that it is Peppa Pig, though on hindsight I would have brought another set rather than this.
This toy is stated for 3 years plus though my thoughts are still the same no matter what age.
This item can be found in many places, both in store and online. I have found this item in places like Argos, Sainsburys and Toys R Us as well as on Amazon and Ebay.
The main price I have found this item at is £14.99 with Amazon having a small sale £12.74 new. Personally I do not believe that this toy is worth either of these prices. I was lucky and spent my Amazon voucher on this toy rather than money, though on hindsight, I would certainly have looked at buying something else instead of this as no matter how you pay - around £15 is way over priced for what it is.
I am very glad that my daughter loves this toy, though this is because it is of Peppa Pig rather than the toy itself I believe. Personally I do not recommend this toy as it has low durability and it grossly overpriced for what it is.
