Liv DOLL Katie
One of the collection of fashion type dolls owned by Little Miss; this one is quite a new addition.
She is one of 4 dolls, marketed on the basis that everyone needs best friends, and making them seem impossibly trendy/happy/sporty/glam etc...
She comes in a large box with the usual ties and bindings which make getting her out an incredibly frustrating experience. Once out, we have not only a doll but also a head shaped stand a hair brush and two wigs. The doll is 29 cm high and bends at the joints, and wigless has painted on short brown hair. She is the sporty one of the friends and wears white jeans, plimsolls, jacket scarf stud ear rings and a bag which can be slung casually over her shoulder. The clothes and shoes can be removed but she doesn't seem to have a change of clothing so Little miss tends to keep her fully dressed.
The head shaped object is actually a wig stand. One of the wigs is a short flippy style and the other is longer. To get the wig on the doll the plastic post has to be pushed into the hole on the doll's head and then to remove it, the wig just has to be pulled off and then put on the wig stand.
The dolls appear to still retail around the £20 mark- I thought they would have gone down considerably after the main advertising on tv and Christmas but clearly not!
WHAT WE THINK...
It's actually not what I think but what Little Miss thinks that counts. She likes this doll although disappointingly she hasn't asked for the Daniela (my name0 Liv doll!! The doll is nice and sturdy and bends easily at the joints without feeling as though it's going to snap. I think the wig stand is a great idea- if only all dolls came with an accessory to store their little bits and pieces.
The doll can join in with all the other fashion dolls and join in with their activities so as with all of these type of toys there is plenty of scope for imaginative play.
Still selling for around the £20 mark
A sturdy fashion doll, which I would recommend for anyone liking this kind of thing.
