      Disadvantages

If Steve McQueen tried his great escape on this one he may just have made it over that fence?????

Sylvanian Families have done it again, brought out yet more stuff for the poor unsuspecting parent forced into buying for their screaming and very demanding children. This time they have brought out a Sylvanian families motorbike with side car, just like the motorbike and side cars that were very popular in the mid 1950's and have had many jokes made about them in movies, television show and cartoons. Only this Sylvanian motorbike and sidecar has a few differences, the main one being that it is a lot smaller than a normal one, obviously, as it's designed for the Sylvanian characters to ride and not for the likes of you and I to tootle off down to Skegness on for a dirty weekend with the misses.

I can almost hear some of you asking 'who or what are Sylvanian Families and what on earth are they doing with a motorbike and sidecar?'
Well, the Sylvanian Families are a collection of toy creatures, such as dogs, beavers, rabbits, Koalas and other little animals, with each different animal being in its own little family, usually a mum, a dad, and a couple of kids, with grandparents and uncles as well, making each family quite some size. The individual animals are only small, ranging from a few centimetres in height to a few inches, the taller ones being the adults in the families.
But there's not just the little animals in the Sylvanian range, no, there's places for them to live, such as farms, caravans and rather grand mansions. Plus, there's vehicles for them to drive as well, such as cars, canal boats and this motorbike and side car.

What does this motorbike and side car look like..?

It looks like a miniature version of the road worthy motorbike and sidecar, in fact, it looks in better condition if I'm honest.
The bike itself is coloured red and is designed to look like a real motor bike, albeit a lot smaller, but the designers have done a cracking job with this one with the details that have gone into making the bike are simply brilliant, with it looking as realistic as it possibly can be without it beginning to look stupid. Then there's the sidecar itself which is also designed with great care and fits snuggly to the side of the bike, helping it stay upright.

As well as the motorbike and sidecar you should also get 2 racoon figures, 2 helmets a pair of goggles, maps, magazines and even tiny postcards to send to someone when the racoons are on their travels.
And don't worry about losing any of the little pieces as there's plenty of storage space, both on the back of the bike and on the front of the side car as well so that you can keep the bits all together without losing them.

All these extra little bits help make this little bike and side car look rather impressive, especially with the two racoons being dressed up in the traditional fashion, leather jackets, leather hats and flowing cloth scarves, which, according to my daughter, makes them look really cute.

The Racoons, who the bike is really made for and that is why they come with it, fit pretty well on the bike and side car, but other creatures can ride it as well, although some of the other, larger creatures may look a little out of place in the side car, with their rather large bulks sticking out a bit too much.

So what about the price for this rather fetching motorbike and sidecar..?
This little vehicle sells in the region of £20.00 which, for part of the Sylvanian collection, is not too bad at all, but do look out as some places will sell this, and other Sylvanian items at bargain prices.
