My daughter's been collecting Sylvanian Families things for quite a while now, from quaint little cottages for the cute little Sylvanian characters to live in up to a grand hotel for them to holiday in.
But for those people who have never heard of Sylvanian Families then I will tell you that they are lovely little animals characters, such as cats, dogs, penguins and others, which live in a lovely 'imaginary' village which has many building of all different shapes and sizes. The characters travel around the village using a range of vehicles, such as cars, bikes and even a canla boat, plus, what I am going to tell you about here, and the item that my daughter was given as a present quite recently, is the Sylvanian Families Nursery School bus.
What does it look like then..?
It's a little yellow bus made of plastic, having a front, back, a single side with a few windows and a half side which has a doorway taken out so that the little characters can get on and off.
There's no actual roof to speak of, although there is a little piece of a roof which is above the drivers seat, and on this roof part there is a lovely little basket which can take a few little items.
The front of the bus has a massive window for the driver to see where he's going, with the passenger seats directly behind the driver, with some of these seats movable so that you can place them in in more than one position.
There's a couple of little steps which need to be climbed to get to the seating area so wheelchairs will have some difficulties getting on board.
The bus itself can hold up to 7 smaller characters and a bus driver quite comfortably, but you don't get any characters with it so you do have to add your own, although you do get a drivers hat which can be worn by anyone that drives the bus, apart from the little people that is.
As for the actual build of it, well, it is built quite sturdy even though it is only plastic, but it has stood up to some drops and bangs against furniture, especially when my younger daughter has grabbed it and decided to roll it across the floor, aiming for the dogs legs, only for the dog to jump out of the way, and the nearest piece of furniture taking the brunt of the force, stopping the bus in it's tracks. (I really have to stop her tormenting the dog).
Are there any little extra..?
The bus comes with a few items that any little Sylvanian youngster should have with them on a day trip to the seaside, such as a bucket and spade, and a little rake as well, plus a ball for those sporty ones. There's also some really miniature items such as food stuff and even a water bottle, plus other items as well which all go to make this school bus what it is.
In the back of the bus, or more hidden under the seat in the back, is a little trampoline and the seats come out of the bus to double up as picnic benches.
It is well built, being made of a sturdy plastic, and it is very mobile as the wheels on the bus really do go round and round, with the yellow plastic bodywork being able to stand up to some knocks against furniture.
In all, this is a rather splendid little bus, even if it doesn't look lie a real bus. It has plenty of room for the little people of the village so that they can get out and about, either to school, from school or even a day trip to the beach. And, with the additional extras that come with the bus, a day at the beach can be real fun and laughter.
As for the price, well this one sells for about £20.00 which is really cracking value for money indeed, considering that it has a Sylvanian stamp on it. So if you want to add it to your collection, or just want to buy it as a present ready for your little one for next Christmas, then this is certainly worth looking at as it is indeed great value for money.
