Monthly Competition

Nokia 6600 Slide

Winner of the Monthly Competition in October, Hishyeness, gave us a commendable account of the Nokia 6600 Slide with his review Sliding Back into the Mobile Generation. Topsyturvy was awarded second place for her excellent review of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, while jillycat took out third prize for her review of the BT Studio 3500 Single telephone. Thanks to all members who took part in the competition, there were some great reviews submitted - it's now onto a new month though and we're looking for all your reviews in the Kids & Family category!

Review of the Month

Samsung LE-19B450

Great_reviewer07 Choosing a new LCD TV is not an easy task - there are so many different options, it's usually a rather large investment, and then there are all the questions about which brand, which size, and exactly how are we supposed to make a decision? That's where reviews like October's Review of the Month come in... Can Samsung Do No Wrong? is easy to understand, clear, and an excellent summary of the features of the Samsung LE-19B450, and a very favourable one at that! According to Great_reviewer07, this TV possesses "crisp clear picture, perfect sound quality" and is easy to install as well - sounds good to us! Thanks for the great tip Nicola, and congratulations on taking out October's top review honours!

Sesame Street 40th Anniversary

Sesame Street has got to be one of the most famous streets in the world, with more international star power than Coronation Street, its influence arguably reaching far wider than that of Downing Street, and its financial standing could well be faring rather better than Wall Street in recent times! In fact, the show is so iconic that for the 40th Anniversary celebrations this month the First Lady of the show's home country, Michelle Obama, will appear on the show as well as other guest stars including Hugh Jackman and Cameron Diaz (Hula Hoops optional). Taking our rightful place amongst the stars, we here at dooyoo have prepared our own little tribute to all things Sesame Street, take a look!

Fisher Price Talking Alphabet School Bus Sesame Street Elmo and Friends

For most of us Sesame Street was a regular presence in our lives as children, and the appeal certainly hasn't waned over the last four decades. Like the television programme, Sesame Street products often have an educational element and can be excellent choices for young children, like the Fisher Price Talking Alphabet School Bus Sesame Street Elmo and Friends. Plus, keeping the kids entertained can also be educational with the Sesame Street: 123 Count With Me DVD.

Bert

We know that the little ones will love a soft cuddly Sesame Street friend, but many somewhat older fans of the show also love collecting the adorable character soft toys. There is of course Big Bird, the biggest nerd on the block, plus double trouble Bert and Ernie, our personal favourite Count Von Count (ah, ah, AAH), and the interactive Fisher Price Elmo Live.

Solid Gold Bomb Sesame Street Cookie Monster Unisex Hooded Sweatshirt

You can start your own private homage to Sesame Street, whether or not you have kids in your household. Honour the memories with a Cookie Monster or Elmo T-shirt, or for some kooky fun there's the Solid Gold Bomb Sesame Street Cookie Monster Unisex Hooded Sweatshirt. For the lads there are also these quirky Bert and Ernie Cufflinks - they'll be sure to break the ice at your next business meeting or formal dinner!

A good many of us feel a little grouchy in the mornings, at least until we've finished that first morning cuppa, so what could be more appropriate than an Oscar the Grouch Mug?

For all the laughs, learning, and for keeping our children happy and entertained - thanks Sesame Street, happy 40th!

Featured Product of the Month

Philips goLITE BLU Energy Light

Do your notice your mood darkening as the weather does? Does the thought of winter make you want to curl up and hibernate for the next six months? If so, it might be that you suffer from some of the symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a mood disorder that affects up to 9% of adults. Even in less serious cases many people suffer from the 'winter blues' and have generally less energy during the cold months. That's where the new Philips goLITE BLU Energy Light comes in - it's scientifically designed to help regulate your circadian rhythms in as little as 15 to 45 minutes per day. Fully programmable, portable, and featuring a built in alarm the goLITE emits a specific spectrum of light that are bodies best respond to, ensuring the maximum benefit from natural light therapy to help minimise winter blues, increase energy levels, and even combat jet lag. Definitely worth a try for those needing a bit of a cold weather pick-me-up!
