We truly had huge numbers of outstanding quality reviews pouring into the PC / Video Games category over the month of October, so picking three winners was definitely a challenge. Thank you so much to all dooyooers who participated in the competition - we think you did a great job!

There can only be one winner of the first prize though and this month that prize goes to a writer who dedicated most of their considerable review-writing powers to the PC / Video Game category last month, and certainly turned out some fantastic reviews in the process. Congratulations Hydromancer, we loved loads of your reviews but especially Who would have known that being a surgeon is this fun? of the Nintendo DS Game given a four out of five star rating by the dooyooCommunity, Trauma Center: Under the Knife. Great work!

With a snappy, witty style, and great game analysis we couldn't go past dj981's review of Grand Theft Auto IV for the Xbox 360. Titled simply GRANDIOSE the review ends with the line "Quite possibly the best of all time. Buy it or I'll send the boys round." Right, well that's quite a recommendation!

Our final pick for the winners brigade in October is collingwood21's thorough, thoughtful, but very easy to read review The Following Takes Place Between Season 2 and 3 of 24: The Game for Playstation 2. Sounds like a game that perhaps only fans of the TV Show should take a look at, but it's certainly a review that any fans of good writing will appreciate. Thanks Sharon!

All of us in the dooyooCommunity are lucky enough to have our own private travel advisor in Mexico. Don't tell me you didn't know?! If you're looking confused right now, wondering who we're referring to, it's time for you to march yourself quick-smart over to zoe_page_1's profile and take a look at some of her awesome reviews of locations in Mexico. Her fantastically helpful, concise, but descriptive review of the Coyoacan district in Mexico City, called Coyote (Not So) Ugly is October's Review of the Month. Thanks so much for giving us a peek into your exotic life Zoe - it certainly makes planning a summer trip a whole lot easier, not to mention winter day-dreaming!

Of course starting with some reading material to ground you in the basics of baking at home makes a lot of sense - even if you're already an experienced baker, having a reference book or some new ideas is handy. The dooyooCommunity highly recommends How To Be A Domestic Goddess by Nigella Lawson. Baking recipes for comfort food, and tips on how to get the most satisfying of results without the stress, this gorgeous book will bring out the domestic gods and goddesses in us all. |
