Dr. Hauschka Eye Contour Day Balm
by sparkle1004 The skin around my eyes seem to be aging quicker than the rest of my face. I've always suffered with dark circles and so I have been covering the delicate area with concealer for years so this might be why. I also pull on the skin when inserting and removing my contact lenses so I thought I could do with a bit of help in this area. For ... these reasons, I purchased the Eye Contour Day Balm by Dr. Hauschka. What does the product do? The product has been designed in order to help tone the skin around the eye and to help maintain the elasticity of the eyelid. In doing so, it helps to prevent new wrinkles from forming and strengthen the skin around the eye, putting an end to anymore more crows feet. It also promises to soothe irritations in the eye area which I thought sounded good as a contact lens wearer but it always promises to help relieve the symptoms of hay fever. It is suitable for use on mature, dry or normal skin. How does it work? The product contains a lot of natural ingredients which help this balm get to work. It contains Castor Oil which is known for helping to keep the skin youthful and winkle free and Peanut Oil which contains fatty acids which are essential for healthy skin. Obviously the inclusion of this ingredient makes this product unsuitable for those who suffer from nut allergies. Apricot Oil helps the skin to hold onto its elasticity which prevents new wrinkles from forming, while Carrot Root Extract helps to condition and protect the skin. Cocoa butter is included to nourish and hydrate the skin. How do you use the product? The balm is to be applied in the morning to clean skin that has already been moisturised. You need to take a tiny amount of the balm and warm it between your fingers to make it easier to apply. You then spread the balm gently across the skin around the eye, taking great care not to pull the delicate skin when you do so. You need to leave the balm to get to work for around ten minutes and then you need to remove the excess balm by blotting the area gently with a tissue. The product shouldn't be used at night time. Packaging and Price The product is packaged in the conventional white plastic that is always found with this brand. It looks like a lip balm because of its screw top lid and tiny pot. The pot has no particular design over than an orange stripe and the balm is fairly easy to access providing that you haven't got nails that are too long. The balm is stupidly expensive but it will last a very long time if used correctly and it's nice to treat yourself once in a while. It will set you back around £25 for 10ml of the balm and it can be bought from any department stores with a Dr. Hauschka stand such as Boots and also from a variety of online websites. Application This product is simple to apply if you use it correctly. You really do only need to use a teeny tiny bit of this product because its texture is quite waxy and greasy. If you over do it then you'll end up looking messy and it's a waste of the product. If you do use a small amount of the product and remember to blot, then this isn't a problem. If you warm the balm between your fingers first then it does glide across the skin without pulling which is extremely important in a product of this type. It feels completely comfortable on my skin and doesn't make my eye sting or itch, even when I'm wearing my contact lenses. Despite the bright orange colour of the product, it goes onto the skin clear and doesn't show up at all so you needn't panic when you first remove the lid. The aroma is that of vegetables! Hardly the most beautiful fragrance but it doesn't hang around on the skin and it is natural so it's better than an artificial one being applied to the skin. I've also found that you can apply the product to the lips as well but I tend not to waste such an expensive product on the lips if I can help it. Performance The product does seem to brighten the skin and to make it more toned. I think that my fine lines and crow's feet have been reduced marginally and my bags appear less because of the patting access that I use to apply the product. It makes the skin around my eye feel really hydrated and it also seems to brighten the skin beneath the eye so my bags are less evident. Make up is easily applied over the top as long as you remember to blot the skin properly and it has only caused me blemishes if I've got some on my cheeks as it has a very greasy consistency. I don't suffer from hay fever so can't comment on its benefits there but it does bring some comfort to the eye area and it is quite awakening. Conclusion All in all, despite being very expensive, I think this is a great eye product which brightens, tones and hydrates the skin area. If used properly, it should be long lasting and make the skin look healthier and younger when used continually. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again. I just hope it doesn't run out anytime soon so that I have to!! Read the complete review |

Dr. Hauschka Daily Revitalizing Eye Cream
by wazza115 I am always trying new creams, normally when I spot something on offer but my mum always swears by Dr Hauschka. Now I am in my 30's, the lines are starting to show, particularly my crows feet so she decided to buy me a selection of their facial products for my birthday. One of the items she brought was the Revitalizing Eye ... Cream. It comes in a long thin tube like most eye creams do and each bottle contains 12.5ml of product. The tube is white with black and gold writing on and has the orange band with the logo on. *Availability:* Not many places stock Dr Hauschka, my mum buys it from John Lewis online, what I like about John Lewis is they offer a wide variety of delivery options (evenings, next days, specific days and Saturdays all for reasonable prices). You can also buy online from Dr Hauschka direct at http://www.drhauschka.co.uk where delivery is free if you spend over £40 but the delivery options are not as flexible. This particular eye cream retails for just under £28 *How to use:* It is recommended to use the cream twice a day, just before bed and in the morning. I find it is quite light and not very greasy so it absorbs really quickly meaning I am not waiting around ages before I can apply my make up in the morning. You only need a small amount on your finger and gently pat around they contours of the eye working from the inside out. As the skin around your eyes is quite delicate, do not rub it as this will stretch the skin and make your eyes worse. *The smell:* It is advertised as having a fragrance of marshmallows and pineapple, there is definitely a sweet smell when you first apply but it is not too overpowering and fades quite quickly. *The brand:* What I like about this brand is that they use completely natural ingredients and do not test on any animals. Also, they boast that where possible, they try and obtain most of their ingredients from certified biodynamic and organic sources. *My thoughts:* I have been using the product for around a month now and there is still over 75% of the tube left. Although the results were not instant, within about a week of using, I starts to notice the difference. Without using loads of concealer, I always have dark circles under my eyes, these were visibly reduced but the biggest difference I noticed was my crows feet, although they are still there, the lines are not as deep and there aren't as many of them. Although I would not normally entertain any eye cream at this price, I think it is worth the money. From how much I have used so far, I feel it will last me for a good six months and unlike a lot of cheaper versions, it works! I would class myself as having combination skin and sometimes I tend to suffer with dry patches around my eyes, the cream has never irritated my skin and has stopped the dryness I sometimes have. Over the years, the brand has won loads of beauty awards and I can see why. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars from me, I will never buy another brand of eye cream. Thanks for reading. Dr. Hauschka Regenerating Eye Cream
by kama0529 I have bought Dr. Hauschka Regenerating Eye Cream on a number of occasions now, mostly when I've felt like I've needed a little something extra to perk the skin around my eyes up. I work shifts and as a consequence of that I do tend to get tired and dehydrated because of my shift patterns. Before I bought this for the first time I had ... used a couple of products from the Dr. Hauschka range - and there is no getting away from the fact that the brand in general is very expensive, but in terms of the regenerating eye cream I have to say that it lasts absolutely ages and so while the initial price may blow you away, in terms of economics, it's actually not as bad as it may at first appear. A 15g bottle of the Dr. Hauschka Regenerating Eye Cream currently costs £49.95 from the Dr. Hauschka website (www.drhauschka.co.uk), but I have picked it up for cheaper than this when I was in the USA and so if you're hopping across to the USA it may be worth looking out for it there. This eye cream is designed to reduce wrinkles around the eyes, as well as to moisturise the skin around the eyes to make the skin healthier and more radiant. It is made with natural products, a concept I really like because I just feel there are just too many chemicals mainly in cosmetic products, but this product contains natural plant products such as Pyrus Cydonia Seed Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sunflower, Daisy, Alba leaf etc. I tend to have very sensitive skin and using natural products tends to reduce the chances of me reacting to the product - and I have never received an adverse reaction to this cream once applied to my skin. It is advised that this cream is applied in the morning, after you have cleansed and toned your skin. They do not recommend that this product is applied at night because your skin needs to breathe at night and so this cream is intended for daytime use only. I have tended to apply it after cleansing (I rarely tone) and before I apply my make-up for the day, but it does go under make-up without any problems. Applying the cream is very easy and, as I said earlier, a little really does go a long way. I apply a tiny portion of the cream to just under the inside corner of my eye and then I gradually swipe the cream outwards under my eye and gently massage the cream in. It absorbs into the skin very quickly and leaves the skin with a matte look instead of with a shiny look. I then do the same above my eye, starting just above the corner of my eye and then sweeping out over my eyelid. I find afterwards that my skin feels really well moisturised and looks lighter and more radiant. Although I don't have many wrinkles (I'm lucky like that!), I find that the cream does make the lines a little finer - which does make a difference to me because the lines are quite fine to begin with. I'm not sure how effective this cream would be if you had a lot of wrinkles because I do find the effect is quite subtle and if you were very wrinkly it might not be that noticeable. However, I have found that the effect becomes more pronounced with regular use. As I said before, this cream has never resulted in my skin reacting negatively. In addition to this, it's gentle on my eyes as well because when I have accidentally got the cream in my eyes, it hasn't stung or made them sore. Overall, I think this is a very good product and I certainly think it is a very high quality. However, it does have a very high price tag accompanying this, but in some respects I think this shouldn't put anyone off because it does last ages. One tube will generally last me about 3 months of regular use - and that works out as about 50p a day, which sounds a little more reasonable. Read the complete review |
