Advantages: functional, smell
Disadvantages: horrible conditioner, price
I don't usually spend a lot of money on my haircare and rely mostly of cheaper shampoos and conditioners. I tend to think that my hair is generally good quality anyway so why bother spending extra? I was given this Dr. Hauschka conditioner as a gift and was quite excited to see how it would work on my hair.
The bottle is perfectly fine - like a lot of the products from this brand I can't help but feel that they are a little dated looking. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is I just don't find them particularly exciting in design and nor do they instantly scream quality the way other brands do. That said, as long as the bottle is functional I am not overly bothered about the design. The product is more important overall so the bottle for this product didn't put me off.
The conditioner itself is made from natural ingredients which I love. I think it is really important to try to source products which contain as few chemicals as possible, they tend to be way better for your body/face/hair and kinder to the environment. This product also smells incredible! I had to stop myself from drinking the entire bottle the first time I sniffed it, and it does leave the same lovely scent in your hair throughout the day.
So the big disappointment was the product itself I'm afraid. In an expensive conditioner I would expect it to be ultra thick and creamy with a rich consistency and great shine effect on your hair. This product has NONE of those things. It has a very strange watery consistency which is really off putting. It didn't stop me from using it entirely as I thought it might have hidden shine power. It is ok to apply to your hair but because of the lacklustre consistency it tends to have a bit of difficulty sticking to your hair and is very easy to drop/slip away which at the price is annoying.
The biggest disappointment by far has to be the effect it has on your hair which ranges from none at all to negative. It does not make your hair feel luscious and shiny - in fact it gave mine a straw like feeling I only get with very poor shampoos and conditioners. Ultimately it made me feel like I had not used a conditioner at all, which I almost wished I hadn't.
In terms of price this product retails at around £18 for 250ml. Obviously that price is ridiculous, in fact giving it away for free would still be too great a cost for me.
My advice? I would avoid this product, at the very least it will do nothing for your hair and at the other end of the scale it will make it feel worse than before you started.

Summary: A terrible product
