      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Lovely

I recently had the opportunity to try my first ever Dr Hauschka prouct in the form of the Lemon Lemongrass Body moisturiser. I actually won this in a Daily Telegraph competition, but although grateful to get the opportunity to try a brand I had heard so much about, I have to confess, that I was not quite so pleased to find that they were only sending me a travel sized version and not the full sized product. Still, like I say it gave me an opportunity to try it and it is an expensive brand, so it's nice to have a bit of luxury -especially since it was free!

The product normally comes in a bottle like the one pictured, but my small size came in a tube. Although I haven't used the pump bottle, I do think that it is probably a better vessel for this product, as the moment I pierced the foil on my travel size tube, the product started pouring out, as it's a very runny consistency.

I love lemon scented products and I was extremely pleased to find that this (in my opinion anyway), smells almost identical to one of my favourite lemon-scented products, Lemony Flutter from Lush. If you're not familiar with that, I would say it smells lemony yet sweet - almost like lemon meringue pie. It's very strongly fragranced and very zesty, as I guess is to be expected. If you don't like the smell of lemon you probably won't like it, but if like me, you do then this smells like heaven!

The body lotion is a slightly yellowish colour and as I mentioned very runny. The plus side of this, is that a really tiny amount will go a long way. Since this is a reasonably pricey product, it means you will at least get your money's worth.

The product absorbs really quickly which again is very much a plus point for me, as I hate products that leave the skin feeling sticky after use. I have fairly dry skin and I find this to be moisturising even on the driest parts of my body such as knees and elbows. The results of using it seem to be reasonably long lasting and I don't feel the need to re-moisturise after a couple of hours as sometimes happens with cheaper products.

A 145ml bottle of this costs £22.95 from lookfantastic.com. I do not see Dr Hauschka products very often on the high street, I did think Holland and Barrett used to sell them, but I can't find them on the website. I do think the price is quite steep, despite how much I like the product. As I said a little goes a long way, but I would have thought £10-£15 is a more reasonable price for this.

Overall I really liked this product and other than feeling that it is overpriced, I can't really think of any complaints about it. There's no way I would pay £22.95 for it, but if I was to get the chance to use it again I would and it has made me interested to try other products in the Dr Hauschka range.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

not something would go out of my way to buy

So apart of my beauty Dr. Hauschka beauty hamper included the Dr. Hauschka Lemon Lemongrass Body Moisturiser, researching the price and this retails at just under £23 which I think is an acceptable price for a branded product that lasts long and works well however this is only a 145ml bottle so this does not last long at all because the consistency is quite thick, despite the pump action lid this does not spread far so using this head to toe every day will have a damaging side effect on your bank balance. Personally I wouldn't pay this price for this product but I would consider paying this price for a moisturiser that goes further than this.

The packaging again is plain and simply some think it's dated but I think that it's fine ,it's the product that matters. I love fruit smelling products and this smells like Lemons in case you never guessed from the title of the product, the smell is really invigorating and uplifting, after several hours of having this on the scent was still noticeable upon my skin which I was really pleased about although this can clash with certain perfumes if you are not careful.

Spreading this is easy but it doesn't go far at all but luckily this soaks in really well so by the time I get to the top of my body my feet are dry and moisturised which I think is one of the best things about this product. Feeling my skin afterwards it was very soft and supply but after around two weeks of using this I noticed I didn't need to use as much and my skin was soft on it's own but of course I continued to use the product until it was all used up.

This moisturiser contains extracts of firming Field Horsetail and fortifying Sage and these apparently both help to keep your skin firm and toned, I can see any results that suggest it did or didn't do that however it did nourish my skin a lot and I didn't realise how dehydrated it must of been, my skin felt lighter and cleaner and it was brighter as well which I didn't expect so it really did look healthier all over.

This is a really good product with visible results in a few weeks and touchable results from day 1, looking at the ingredients and this contains 5 different oils in it and yet it doesn't feel greasy or oily and doesn't leave your skin feeling that way either although I have to say this also have peanut in it so please beware if you have an allergy, on some websites I've noticed it doesn't say this clearly anywhere so you must read the ingredients list. I won't go out of my way to buy this product myself but if someone asked me if I wanted a gift from their range I would definitely say this Lemongrass Body Moisturiser.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A nice luxury product with a nice lemon fragrance.

My mum brought me my first Dr Hauschka product a few months ago and I have been very impressed so far. One item that she brought me was the Lemon Lemongrass Body Moisturiser.

The product itself looks quite expensive and elegant sat in my bathroom. It comes in a glass bottle with a gold pump dispenser which is really easy to operate. As with most products that have a pump dispenser, when you first use, you have to twist the top slightly to release the lock and you can lock to again by depressing and twisting (although on any product with this sort of lid, I have never managed to do so successfully!).

This moisturiser won the InStyle Best Beauty Buys award in 2011.

      *Price & Availability:*

Not many places stock Dr Hauschka, my mum buys it from John Lewis online, what I like about John Lewis is they offer a wide variety of delivery options (evenings, next days, specific days and Saturdays all for reasonable prices). You can also buy online from Dr Hauschka direct at http://www.drhauschka.co.uk where delivery is free if you spend over £40 but the delivery options are not as flexible.

This moisturiser retails for around £17.95 for a 75ml bottle.

      *How to use:*

Part of my morning routine is to shower every day, I could not stand the thought of starting the day without one but because of this, my skin tends to become really dry, particularly my legs.

As soon as I have had a shower and dried off (yet still a little damp), I apply a small amount all over, I say small because you don't need to use too much as a little bit covers quite a large area. Although this is oil, it rubs in and absorbs really quick and easily.

      *The smell:*

When it comes to any sort of fragrance, whether it be creams, candles etc, I always prefer sweet smells which is another reason why I love the product as the fragrance is lemons. When I first apply, it smells quite sweet yet not too overpowering, I have found that the smell however does fade quite quickly, but this does not concern me too much as I would not want it to interfere with my perfume.

The fragrance is quite invigorating and certainly wakes me up in the morning and makes me feel 'fresh'.

      *The brand:*

What I like about this brand is that they use completely natural ingredients and do not test on any animals. Also, they boast that where possible, they try and obtain most of their ingredients from certified biodynamic and organic sources.

      *My opinion:*

I am quite impressed with this moisturiser, due to shaving and showering, the skin on my legs gets really dry yet this has combated the problem. If I apply the moisturiser at 6.30 in the morning, my still feel silky and soft by the time I go to bed at night.

I would say the condition of my skin overall looks a lot better, I recently went away for a couple of days and didn't take it away with me, yet my skin was no where near as dry as it used to seem before I started using the product.

I would recommend this, compared to standard moisturisers, it is little expensive but it has definitely delivered the best result (and over the years I have tried loads of different products).

The only downside is really the price, but what with mothers day, birthdays & Christmas, I am sure I can drop enough hints to people to ensure I don't have to splash out myself!

The product boast that it helps to discourage cellulite, I cannot really comment if this is true as I don't think I have been using it long enough, what I would say is my skin feels and looks in better condition.

Overall, 5 out of 5 stars from me.

      Thanks for reading.
