Advantages: Nice fragrance, makes my skins feels lovely and soft.
Disadvantages: Slightly Expensive
My mum brought me my first Dr Hauschka product a few months ago and I have been very impressed so far. One item that she brought me was the Lemon Lemongrass Body Moisturiser.
The product itself looks quite expensive and elegant sat in my bathroom. It comes in a glass bottle with a gold pump dispenser which is really easy to operate. As with most products that have a pump dispenser, when you first use, you have to twist the top slightly to release the lock and you can lock to again by depressing and twisting (although on any product with this sort of lid, I have never managed to do so successfully!).
This moisturiser won the InStyle Best Beauty Buys award in 2011.
*Price & Availability:*
Not many places stock Dr Hauschka, my mum buys it from John Lewis online, what I like about John Lewis is they offer a wide variety of delivery options (evenings, next days, specific days and Saturdays all for reasonable prices). You can also buy online from Dr Hauschka direct at http://www.drhauschka.co.uk where delivery is free if you spend over £40 but the delivery options are not as flexible.
This moisturiser retails for around £17.95 for a 75ml bottle.
*How to use:*
Part of my morning routine is to shower every day, I could not stand the thought of starting the day without one but because of this, my skin tends to become really dry, particularly my legs.
As soon as I have had a shower and dried off (yet still a little damp), I apply a small amount all over, I say small because you don't need to use too much as a little bit covers quite a large area. Although this is oil, it rubs in and absorbs really quick and easily.
*The smell:*
When it comes to any sort of fragrance, whether it be creams, candles etc, I always prefer sweet smells which is another reason why I love the product as the fragrance is lemons. When I first apply, it smells quite sweet yet not too overpowering, I have found that the smell however does fade quite quickly, but this does not concern me too much as I would not want it to interfere with my perfume.
The fragrance is quite invigorating and certainly wakes me up in the morning and makes me feel 'fresh'.
*The brand:*
What I like about this brand is that they use completely natural ingredients and do not test on any animals. Also, they boast that where possible, they try and obtain most of their ingredients from certified biodynamic and organic sources.
*My opinion:*
I am quite impressed with this moisturiser, due to shaving and showering, the skin on my legs gets really dry yet this has combated the problem. If I apply the moisturiser at 6.30 in the morning, my still feel silky and soft by the time I go to bed at night.
I would say the condition of my skin overall looks a lot better, I recently went away for a couple of days and didn't take it away with me, yet my skin was no where near as dry as it used to seem before I started using the product.
I would recommend this, compared to standard moisturisers, it is little expensive but it has definitely delivered the best result (and over the years I have tried loads of different products).
The only downside is really the price, but what with mothers day, birthdays & Christmas, I am sure I can drop enough hints to people to ensure I don't have to splash out myself!
The product boast that it helps to discourage cellulite, I cannot really comment if this is true as I don't think I have been using it long enough, what I would say is my skin feels and looks in better condition.
Overall, 5 out of 5 stars from me.
Thanks for reading.
