For as long as I can remember, when I am tired, my eyes tend to get really itchy, stream with water and I just want to rub them like crazy! Whilst doing his does tend to sort my eyes out, I am sure it cannot be doing much for the skin around my eyes and now I am in my 30's, I am becoming more conscious of those fine lines appearing. I friend told me I was suffering from dry eye syndromes, which seems quite ironic considering them seem to water so much and recommended I brought an eye treatment to try and help me. As I am already a big fan of Dr Hauschka, this was a great excuse for me to try another one of their treatments so after speaking to an advisor in John Lewis, I brought the Dr Hauschka Eye Solace
This is available from larger department stores or from Dr Hauschka direct, the cost of this around £21.95 for a pack of 10 x 5ml treatments. As far as I know, this is the only pack size available as I have not seen this in any different sizes.
The product comes in a small white box which with the trademark Dr Hauschka written in gold writing and the orange band towards the bottom of the box. Inside the box, there are 10 ampoules (little glass tubes of fluid) and 10 eye pads (these are white in colour and very similar to cotton wool circular pads but thicker and a bit bigger).
To use, stand the ampoule upright and twist the cap off. Pour the contents onto one of the pads supplied and the separate the pad into two (the pad splits quite easily and neatly), close your eyes and then place the pads over each of your eyes and relax. I tend to lie down so I am not sat awkwardly holding them onto my eyelids. The treatment is designed to last for about 10minutes, I find the whole process quite relaxing buy more importantly, it works! Within about 2 minutes of the pads being placed on my eyes, there was a definitely a cooling sensation I think this is due to the chamomile extracts) my eyes were no longer stinging or burning as they were before applying. After 10 minutes, I removed the pads and my eyes did not look as red, I must say, they were still a little itchy, but no where near as bad and they certainly did not look as red or sore as before applying.
The products fragrance is that of herbs and flowers, the aroma is very slight and not overpowering, whilst I don't particularly find the fragrance appealing, it is no way off putting or unpleasant.
What I like about this brand is that they use completely natural ingredients and do not test on any animals. Also, they boast that where possible, they try and obtain most of their ingredients from certified biodynamic and organic sources.
The product is recommended for all skin types, I can sometime have quite sensitive skin and I have not experienced any problems whilst using this product.
Dr Hauschka also recommend this product for any irritations caused by hay fever or tired eyes from staring at a PC screen, I don't suffer from these therefore cannot comment if any good but it certainly works on tired, itchy and red eyes.
Overall, I would give this product 5 out of 5 stars and I would recommend, although due to the price, I might not be buying as regularly as I would like too but for a weekly treat, this is a great product!
Thanks for reading.
