WHAT IS IT?
A lemon scented body oil by Dr Hauschka.
IS IT ANY GOOD?
It smells very fresh and clean, the lemon is very natural smelling and doesn't appear to have been mixed with much of anything else even though there's also another subtle citrus smell underneath it. The lemon smell lasts for quite a long time after application, this is good because lemon fades very quickly usually and this one has such a lovely smell that I'm happy to wear it as a perfume for a while.
You apply to your skin sparingly and massage in, for an oil it's not too greasy as you massage it in and the oil absorbs quickly. After applying the oil I can get dressed after about five minutes, it doesn't leave a greasy or tacky residue on my skin.
After application my skin feels amazingly soft, this is the nicest and most effective body oil I've used for a long time. I am due to have my baby in just over two weeks time and have been applying this Lemon Body Oil to my stomach and hip area since my third month, I haven't got a single stretch mark and attribute that to the continued use of this oil.
I am impressed with this oil and it's become one of my favourite Dr Hauschka products, it's expensive for such a small bottle but spreads very easily so you literally only need a few drops per application. A 75ml bottle costs £23 but as I have said a little goes a long way so it doesn't work out as expensive as it looks.
5 Dooyoo Stars.
I were first introduced to Dr Hauschka as a brand through the reviews I had read on Dooyoo. Generally there is a good vibe about Dr Hauschka products and I have used them ever since my first collection of purchases. The Dr Hauschka Lemon Body Oil is packed full of citrusy fragrance and as soo as I opened the bottle I loved the product immediately! The intense scent is due to this Body Oil containing oil which is extracted from the peel of the lemon, aswell as extracts of lemon and also lemongrass to intensify the aroma further.
The packaging is quite typical of Dr Hauschka and gives little away and appears almost as if no imagination was used to produce the label or glass bottle. The 75ml bottle has a gold cap which allows for easy dispensing of the product in small quantities. £19 is quite a steel price to pay in all fairness, but Dr Hauschka products all fall under a similar price range and often you do get what you pay for with this brand.
Application is fairly simple, I just apply the Lemon Body Oil to my skin once I have got out of the bath. I find this the best time as A. I am unclothed and it is a convenient time to apply, and B. The skins pores are open and so absorb the oil easier. The fragrance of the lemongrass and lemon is very invigorating and does make me more alert and sensitive. Although it is obviously reasonably oily due to the organic sunflower seed oil, my hands are not left feeling greasy afterwards - perhaps partly due to the fact my skin absorbs it reasonably quickly. My skin feels much more refreshed and invigorated after using this product, as with most Dr Hauschka products which make me feel much better about myself and wellbeing.
The health benefits (according to Dr Hauschka) are that the 'invigorating oil enhances elasticity and helps to discourage cellulite.' I agree with the first part about it being invigorating, and I can imagine the health benefits including improving elasticity of the skin. Discouraging cellulite is another way of saying this product will improve the health of your skin, but it won't treat cellulite - this is the prevention rather than the cure.
I would recommend the Dr Hauschka Lemon Body Oil to anyone wishing to treat themselves to a refreshing and invigorating sensation after bathing. I am unsure if it would work well with the similar Lemon Bath Oil that Dr Hauschka product, or whether this is designed as an alternative application choice. One thing I am sure of is that the Dr Hauschka Lemon Body Oil comes highly recommended.
