Advantages: good coverage, soft lips, removes chapping
Disadvantages: price, packaging
I bought this product a while ago after using a few of the brand products and finding them quite good - there are a few that were disappointing, but when they are good they are really good.
I love lip products and as I am not a lipsticks or gloss fan I prefer to invest in quality lip balms and salves to which I can add a tint if I want some colour. My main priority is keeping my lips hydrated and having a good, quick solution to chapped lips.
This product comes in a white tube, essential designed like a lipsticks but in a cheaper white plastic tube. The design on the front with an orange band and writing is pretty outdated I think. I've thought this about most of the products from the brand but the fact that they don't concentrate on design and focus more on product really appealed to me.
The product itself it made from plant wax and so it completely natural. I think it is really great to source products which are as natural as possible for your skin because they always seem to work better and are kinder to the environment. I don't necessarily go out of my way but I am always pleased to find a product from a reliable range with natural ingredients. This product also has SPF in it so it can be used on the few sunny days we get in England, or on holiday. I like a product that is versatile and offers me more then one function so this is great.
The product goes on very smoothly, it works exactly as a lipstick does but you get more of a balm feeling. It feels very lightweight and not at all sticky, the product is a little thin so it can feel greasy on your lips but then it is absorbed quickly so this doesn't last too long. You don't have to use much to get the desired effect and although lightweight it does feel very hydrating to your lips. I noticed that is visibly reduced chapping on my lips and did make them feel smoother and less dry. Overall I was pretty happy with the performance of the product, all but the smell and taste. Much like the eight hour cream balm it has a slightly odd smell and taste to it which can be a little unpleasant. I think once you get used to it it is fine, but it is an unusual smell for a balm and especially when you applying it so close to your nose!
I paid just over £12 for this product, having bought it online, but I imagine if you shop around you can probably find it cheaper. This is quite an expensive lip balm but I am never worried about paying a lot for something as long as you get good quality. I think this is a good quality lip balm but probably not superior enough over cheaper products for me to buy it again, it was a nice little treat though.
A nice treat but you can find cheaper.
Summary: Look for a cheaper balm
