As someone who loves trying as many different mascaras as possible I was so excited to try this product. I bought it for myself as a little indulgence and was not disappointed by it.
The mascara tube is much like similar mascaras on the market. A long black plastic tube with gold lettering on the front. The design isn't particularly exciting, but it is practical and does look expensive in its simplicity. The brush is a rounded bristle brush with the bristles relatively closely packed together. This is the perfect kind of brush for me, it spans all of your lashes and the bristles are perfect for coating all lashes evenly. The tube is a bit wider than most other mascaras on the market with a similar design, and the barrel of the is probably a little large also. I purchased the mascara in black, although I believe they do other colours too. The black was very striking and unlike some mascaras I have used it was definitely a strong black colour.
The mascara itself is quite light in consistency. This is something I like in a mascara as I find it is more effective in coating the lashes as well as longer lasting and they tend to dry out less quickly than thicker mascaras. The only annoying thing about a lighter cream is that they take a little bit longer to try and have more of a tendency to smudge instantly. That said, I find them more smudge resistant once they have dried than a thicker mascara. As a result of the smudge resistance this mascara can be a little harder to remove. I use face wipes to remove my makeup and this mascara takes a little bit more rubbing than others I use. This doesn't bother me but if you had sensitive skin or irritable eyes it might prove to be a problem for you. I do find that the mascara is pretty long lasting throughout the day and doesn't tend to flake which is great.
It is branded as a volume mascara and I found it very effective for adding some much needed volume to my lashes. It evenly coats them all, adds a lovely black sheen and is even good at reaching those tricky corner lashes. I think the shape of the brush is great. I don't think it is brilliant for length or separating lashes so I tend to top it up with other mascaras but I do find it very effective for creating a powerful base to work from. It also made my lashes feel very healthy which is a great bonus!
In terms of price this mascara costs roughly £20.00, a little cheaper if you shop around though. For all the things it offer I think this is a reasonable price. I probably won't be buying it every few months (mine ran out after 3 months) but I might consider a once a year splurge or possible gift request.
Lovely healthy lashes - who cares about the price?
This was one of my christmas presents this year and is a mascara I have bought before and will buy again as it is a reasonable price at around £17 a tube and works well.
It looks much like most other mascara products but the tube is a little thicker than most and the one I got was black, but you can get brown and blue if you like.
I find that as I have brown eyes I like to use the black mascara as it makes my eyes look more noticable when I wear make-up as long as I don't plaster it on with lots and lots of layers.
The brush is on on a thin stick inside the tube and you just twist the top pull up the stick and it gathers the mascara onto the brush on it's way out of the tube, putting on mascara can be a little tricky and you have to take your time otherwise this will smudge as it is a thinish consistancy and takes a little time to dry.
Once you have done the upper eyelashes first then let them dry you can carefully do the under eyelashes and see that they have volume and it enhances the eyes to make them more noticable, when you add make-up.
This dries on quite good and can be a little hard taking off, you have to wet it a lot with water on a cotton wool ball and take a few wipes at the eyes to get it off fully, but this isn't a bad thing as it lasts a while when your going out and doesn't need to be re-applied.
I like this mascara as once it's dried on it doesn't flake away or smudge off easily like some others you can buy.
It sets well and lasts, which for the price is good value.
I'm happy to recommend this to you if your looking for a durable mascara that doesn't wear off to quickly.
I'm a fairly new convert to the Dr Hauschka range, to such an extent that I never reaklly know how I should pronounce the brand name. This is an organic product which was part of the attraction as I expected a better quality and more natural feeling product.
It is certainly a very resilient mascara as it takes a fair bit of effort to remove it, I have the black variety and they also do a brown and pearl anthracite mascara as well. Being organic the mascara is also ideal for anyone with sensitive eyes as it should not cause any sort of reaction, this does not apply to me in the sense that my eyes are not really sensitive so I cannot say for sure that it works but the sales assistant advised me that it would be ok and is also suitable for people who wear contact lenses. I paid £17.99 for a 6ml bottle.
As I said before this is a pretty robust and long lasting mascara, the brush is quite thick and it is easy to use. Certainly when applying it I noticed the extra volume and thickness that my lashes were getting and the colour is nice and rich. It has a natural look to it as well unless you decide to load it up and then the inner vamp will emerge but this is not my style out of choice as I prefer a more natural look.
There is a nice even coveridge with this product and the brush is a good quality one. The mascara is also quick drying as well and there is no glumping at all. The final look is good quality with lashes being well defined and evenly shaped.
It is pretty resiliant and I have never known it to run, the only downside for me is the amount of effort it takes to remove it at the end of the day even with a good quality remover. The packaging is pretty standard, a sleek tube with some simple gold lettering.
Certainly worth a try, nothing particularly amazing and not the cheapest around but the organic features may appeal to those with sensitive eyes.
WHAT IS IT?
An organic and natural mascara by Dr. Hauschka, available in brown or black this promises to add volume to the lashes while keeping the overall look natural.
IS IT ANY GOOD?
One of my regular ladies has extremely sensitive eyes and this mascara is one of a very few she can use without causing irritation. I use both the brown and black shades on her lashes as the colours are so very different from each other that it's possible to create different looks depending on which one you choose.
The brush is thickly rounded and that helps you to create volume, you can get away with one coat of this mascara for a natural look or build up as many as four coats for a more dramatic finish. The mascara dries very quickly and this helps when you are building up the layers. I like the thick end on the brush as even though this can make getting the thin lashes in the corners harder it does ensure an even coverage on the rest of your lashes. There is never any clumping and after application lashes appear full with no spidering or caking of the product.
When completed your lashes will look thicker and fuller, the colour has a sooty appearance which you can leave as it is or give your lashes more of a shine by applying a glossy clear mascara afterwards. This isn't a waterproof mascara but doesn't flake or run, I applied it to my lady on the morning of her daughter's wedding and she told me it didn't run even when she burst into tears after being thanked during the reception. It can be removed using simple face wipes but to completely remove all residue I'd recommend a good quality eye make up remover.
5 Dooyoo Stars.
I was given this mascara by my sister in law for Christmas last year each and every year I get cosmetics from family members as it is a safe option for a present. Before receiving this product I had never heard of Dr.Hauschka.After reading up on the company I found they made natural products that are kind to skin and designed to provide an option for those with sensitive skin. It comes in both black and brown I received the brown version as I find sometimes black can be too much for my skin tone.
It comes in a tube with a twist of lid like all mascaras. It has a slightly wider tube but this makes the mascara easy to hold and apply. The brush of the mascara is thick and has space between each bristle which I think is perfect as when you apply the mascara it fits the lashes well making them full and giving them just the right amount of curve. When you remove the brush from the tube it has just the right amount of mascara on it and is not over loaded like some products.
When applying the mascara it goes on the lashes very easily. It feels rather wet at first but soon dry's and then feels soft and un noticeable so your eyes do not feel clogged up or heavy. I only need to coat my lashes once and it builds up a natural yet full look not too harsh or outstanding but enough to draw attention to the eyes.
I find it lasts for ages I can put it on early in the morning and go to work come home run around after my babies and it is still visible by 7 pm. Although it stays put and is hard wearing when it comes to removing the mascara it is so easy. Just a cleansing wipe and a few wipes over my lashes and they are back to their natural lash.
Looking around I can see it retails at around £20 which is pricey for a mascara but for somebody with sensitive skin that this mascara would benefit a little more I think it is well worth it. It provides a full look without flaking or causing any irritation.Knowing it is made naturally with no chemicals or cruelty to animals is worth the little extra I believe. This is the only product in the range I have tried so far but if all of the products are as good quality as this mascara I will be converting.
I have quite sensitive skin and some mascara's make my eyes very itchy and a bit pink looking around the edges. So I was curious to try the Dr Hauschka mascara, I was hoping that as a natural product it would be less irritating.
So far, I haven't had any problems. It doesn't irritate my eyes at all, even if I have had it on all day and evening.
The brown shade is perfect for me, I'm blonde and black mascara can look a bit OTT, but this brown mascara makes it look as if I naturally have wonderful lashes, rather than looking as if I have mascara on.
The only real problem I have had with it is that it can be a bit prone to flaking and leaving small particles of mascara on my cheeks, especially on a night out in a hot club. There are a couple of different types of Dr Hauschka mascara and this one isn't waterproof, I intend to try the volume one next to see if that solves the flaking problem.
It can be purchased from the website www.drhauschka.co.uk but I got mine from a department store, which worked out slightly more expensive.
Overall, I have really liked using this mascara and will definitely be getting another one when it runs out. It's not perfect, but it is very good, and good value for money too.
I like to use mascara every day actually I wouldn't go out of the house without applying it because I am a bit vain that way.
I have tried so many different types and I am always on the look out for a good quality that lengthens and thickens my lashes.
Dr Hauschka skin care volumizing mascara was recommended to me by one of my customers in the salon so I thought that I would give it a try.
I bought it from a company called Bella Donna on the internet because their price was reasonable £14.00 for a 10 ml size.
I bought the black shade but I noticed that they did also offer shades of blue, brown and aubergine.
My first impression was that I liked the shape of the application brush it had a slight curve to it making it easier to use and then there was the texture of the actual mascara it was not too thick and sticky and not runny either the effect on my eye lashes was great.
It thickened and lengthened them without clogging them together; I had actually found a mascara that impressed me.
Reading the box I noticed that it contained beeswax, Candalilla and rose wax, and it claimed to be kind to the eyes.
I have been using it for two months now with no problems what so ever but I did find that applying a second coat made my lashes really thick great for an evening out but not very practical for day time wear.
I highly recommend this product and the price is excellent value for money.
