Treasure have made many shooters on many platforms and have shown themselves to be innovative and most importantly capable of making great games. Ikaruga is one of their best games to date. Ikaruga is a vertical shooter with simple but creative gameplay mechanics. You pliot Ikaruga, a ship capable of changing it s polarity between black and white. Enemies and enemy bullets are either black or white. This means that if an enemy is shooting black bullets at you, you can change your ship s polarity to black and the bullets will pass through your ship without causing damage. 	Dead or Alive 2 (DC) ... or Alive 2 is still one of my favourite 3D fighters. The Dreamcast was built for arcade games like this and it shows. The graphics are still appealling now. Characters and backgrounds are rendered smoothly and movements are fluid and natural. The game boast an interesting bunch of fighters. There s some typical characters like the Bruce Lee style fighter but there s some more unusual ones too. A Dennis Rodman look a like who can kick with the best of them, a cowboy type with some wrestling styles and more. The single player story is typically shallow as expected from most fighting games. 	Sonic Adventure (DC) ... game has two different level types. Adventure stages and action stages. The adventure stages are for general play. These stages give the game an rpg type feel, which is not typical of Sonic games. Having said that, i had hoped for a Sonic rpg for a long time. So was initially pleased to see this. Being able to wander around freely at a relaxed pace, and even talk to people. The graphics seemed nice, and it was quite enjoyable for a while. But the novelty soon wore off. Although you encounter a number of levels early on in the game, they don t keep coming. There is alot of going back and forth, using the same levels. It isn t very adventurous, or rewarding.
