Advantages: Nice graphics and some good multiplayer action
Disadvantages: very very very hard!
4 Wheel Thunder is a racing game that has you driving massive monster trucks and smaller 4wd cars around dusty tracks and mud filled circuits as well as a few indoor arenas. It's pretty much a normal racing game, but with the addition of picking up turbo bonuses which you can use at will to give you a speed boost. You'll certainly need all the turbos you can get though, this game is not just tough, it's virtually impossible at times. I really believe that the reason it's called 4 wheel Thunder is that you will certainly storm off after the first few games on this, probably eminating much blue language while you are doing so. Give it a chance though and you will find ways of beating the incredibly tough opposition to the winning post. At this point you will be jumping for joy as you've past yet another course and unlocked a new one (and possibly worn your fingers down to the bone in the process, it really does take that long) Although the game gives you a sense of acheivement after completing a course, it seems to be at too high a cost, the other racers always seem to be one step ahead of you and one false move means that you can forget winning the race altogether. After a while you find yourself having to stop playing as your hands ache too much and your fingers are going red. Graphics wise, the game is pretty smart. All the courses are clear and the background scenery is nicely detailed, without getting in the way of the visibility of the tracks themselves. Sound is so-so and the music is pretty much your standard racing fare. If you fancy a difficult game to give you a challenge, then this is a great game to pick up. But if you're the kind of person who wants to win after 3 or 4 goes then forget it! This is for serious racers only, prefereably with steel fingers.
