Advantages: TWO GREAT FRANCISES!, RYU VERSUS TERRY BOGARD!!, CUSTOMISE CHARACTERS COLOURS

Disadvantages: GREAT BUT NOTHING SPECIAL GRAPHICS, CAPCOM VERSUS SNK 2 IS BETTER, WHERE'S CODY FROM FINAL FIGHT?

A dream match up of two of the biggest fighting franchises . Yes and is it that good? Maybe. I say maybe because when you have a game like capcom vs snk, your expectations are so high that we you finally get to play the game you?ll feel disappointed at first the roster of characters is impressive, over 25, the best from both franchises. But when you get to actually playing the save you?ll notice that most of characters animations have been ? copy and pasted?, from their original games to this game, so how Kyo look in King Of Fighter is the exactly how he looks have and how Zangief looked in Alpha series is how he look here. Only a few characters have a completely new animation like Terry Bogard. But you would think a game of this magnitude that Capcom would go the ?whole hog? and drawn completely new animations for every character.
That aside, over 25 characters and 2 groove systems, one Capcom grove and one SNK grove means that if you choose Ryu you can charge his ?super combo level gauge? manually, something you can?t do in the Capcom groove. The options in this game are awesome, you can customise your chosen character for example give him/her blonde or brown hair (Ryu with blonde hair, mmm? interesting), but first you need to unlock this option by completing the game and earning points. This gives you the incentive to play the game to the end again and again. There?s one mode I would like to have seen is a one on one mode because there?s only the option to fight as a team or in pairs.
Now lets talk about the sound and music. Sound effects great, music not so, there?s just too much jazzy funky type music, which is common in Japanese fighting games of lately. It?s not terrible but it doesn?t get the heart racing like for example Street Fighter 2 or Mark of the Wolves.
The gameplay is enjoyable, taking on the final bosses, Geese or M.Bison depending on which groove you choose is really fun.
Despite the negative features, I still rate this game
highly. Players new to Capcom vs. SNK fighters enjoy this and hardcore players will enjoy it too but they?ll probably go for the Alpha series or the King of Fighters series. Better still go for the superior sequel Capcom Vs SNK 2!

Never been a big fan of this series, with VF, Tekken and Soul Blade there just wasn't anymore room.
This op could have used a little more structure. Sound, Graphics, Multiplay, Modes, Extras..
