Ready for a crazy game on the DC? Well Chu Chu Rocket is just that. The idea of the main game is to guide mice into your base using a series of arrows. Play against a computer or a friend - each one offers a different difficulty, as each game is ultimately different.
Try a puzzle in puzzle mode - achieve the goals in the given time, trying to use as little number of arrows as possible. While you try to guide the mice, cats come after the mice and eat them! As well as diminishing your score, cats are bad news. Or guide the cats into the enemy's base, to reduce their score. In some puzzles, the idea is to feed the cats!
The game is really that simple, but quick reactions are needed; especially when someone gains a bonus that speeds up play. But the forte of CCR is its online features - play other people online, again offering a variety of games and challenges - and your wins are recorded and you can see other peoples score. I try to stick with people equivalent to myself.
The graphics are simple but effective, which works extremely well in a game of this nature. The sound isn't anything spectacular, but still useful in setting the mood in-game. Overall CCR is a sound package, but fails in its one-player longevity. Not bad for £3, as well as a new genre to look at.
Advantages:
Online capers
Classic cat vs. mouse
Create and download puzzles
Disadvantages:
Short one-player mode
Difficult puzzles
Need quick reactions
