Ah, sequels. Some are absolutely rubbish, some milk out a series and some add to the original brilliance of the previous title, and thankfully Crazy Taxi is a game that more or less does the latter of those!

Crazy Taxi set the scene and was quickly hailed as one of the most original Sega games of all time - arcade perfect conversion, and an extra city! Well, in Crazy Taxi 2, the graphics and music have been improved, four new cabbies have replaced the old ones and we've now got a New York kind of city to jump around in!

The new feature Crazy Jump really does add a lot to the game, we've also got a whole new selection of Crazy box style challenges in the Crazy Pyramid. Crazy Taxi 2 is a superb game, which is well worth getting even if you had the original. It’s faster, has few faults and will keep you entertained for ages – and now you can pick up more than one passenger! Brilliant, I highly recommend.

Great graphics – everything is really arcade-like, the control system is fantastically simple, nothing is so easy to pick up an play – a real classic in my view, it’s better than the first, the characters are better – nicer cars, more interesting passengers – including mimes and clowns! You’ll get used to their new remarks, the new landmarks and all sorts. Crazy Jump is brilliant – it was crazy before, now it’s hopping mad!

Downside? It’s so much of a revelation, like the first game was, but still CT2 is a worthy buy – yes it is similar, but then Crazy Taxi 1 was one of the greatest games ever. Funky soundtrack, but still a little tedious and there is no simultaneous four-player action – we were promised it! Not even a two-player mode, but never mind. I would recommend this especially to players and fans of the original – it will show you how fantastic the idea is, how well Hit maker have translated it, and why it’ll sell bucket loads
on the PS2!!

People have criticised it, saying it is nothing more than an add on, but if they had changed it drastically, it wouldn’t be Crazy Taxi anymore. Shame about it remaining 1 player though, but still get it!
