Advantages: high speed mental driving

Disadvantages: none

I first played crazy taxi at a freinds house. We were just sittin there wondering what to do with ourselves, and he all of a sudden, just came up with the idea of playing this game.

"OK", said I. So we did. We then played some more, and some more and some more. "Why didn't you mention you had this earlier you foolish boy??" I said.

Anyway, the games addictiveness had really got hold of the both of us. The idea of the game is very simple, but because its so fast and good to look at (and listen to actually - the music totally rocks. Bands include The Offspring and Bad Religion (I've written other opinions about both by the way)).

You first have to pick a driver, and each driver has their own car. There are some pretty cool people to choose from. Their cars kind of suit them. All are open-top, so customers can jump in and out, and this also makes everything easy to see. You can then pick a time limit to your games (or you can play the arcade mode where time adds on as you deliver customers). This is obviously a good idea for whn your playing with a group of friends. You can try and beat eachothers scores, in say, 5 minutes. Your then given a grade of driving license which tells you how well you've done.

To score points, you, as a taxi driver, have to pick people up, and take them to their destinations in as little time as possible. This is where the CRAZY taxi comes from. If you just trundled along the roads, you'd get nowhere. Cross country maniac driving is whats needed. No matter whats there, you have to get by, under, through it, just so that you can keep the customers happy.

You must pick customers up by stopping within a certain distance from them. There are obviously hundreds of people in the 2 cities within the game. Your customers however will be highlighted, so there should be no problems figuring out what you have to do. Your then given directions to where
you have to take them. You're given a time limit to do this in, and the faster you get them there, the more points you get.

I think that it is just the right level of hardness. Not too many other cars to totally ruin your day, and lots of free space to drive around and explore (even through train tunnels - watch out for trains though). Everything looks just so good. Very clear graphics. You know you're playing a game, but thats a good thing really when the idea is to drive like you're mental.
