Crazy Taxi is not your average racing game, in fact it’s hard to say it’s a racing game at all, but in all honest it does involve cars and racing around cities with the objective of taking customers to their chosen destination within a time limit in order for you to gain money - $ as points, so it is kind of, but it’s a Taxi game – that’s the genre – madcap taxi driving!! And it’s so damn good too!

The game is absolutely superb fun to play – the controls are simple, but you’ll learn new skills, like Crazy Dash and Crazy Drift, and more – in order to get your customers to the places quicker and receive bigger tips! Race through traffic, knock over juggernauts, it’s so much fun! The graphics are fresh and colourful, the cars handle arcade like, which is relieving, and in general, this is one original game.

Plus points:

Amazing gameplay – the game is simply in a class and genre of it’s own.
Arcade like handling and fast paced action, this is one crazy game!

The music is just class – the offspring and bad religion provide a funky and furious soundtrack!
Crazy Box mini modes – great fun!

Downsides:

Slight pop up here and there with some
slowdown.
Won’t last as long as some other racers.

Overall a very worthy game that deserves to be bought, Hitmaker have done a fantastic job with porting the arcade classic onto the Dreamcast.
5 star gaming.
