Advantages: arcade perefect, great fast graphics, good control system

Disadvantages: for driving fans only, is a bit hard

well as a recent convert to the Dreamcast one of the first purchases to make was Daytona 2001 and I can only say what an amazing game this is. For anyone who was a fan of the arcade this is a must, and those that missed the arcade version can now enjoy the experience in their own home, and boy what fun it is! A choice of all the tracks from the arcade plus many new dreamcast only tracks just adds to the value of the game. Perfect graphics with the 60hz option, very fast with zero pop up just makes this a joy to play.
With four cars to choose from at the start, each with their own advantages and disadvantages suited to the beginner and pro, but extra cars become available as your progress through the game and reach certain criteria such as 20 hours play. The six tracks are varied, from the oval of "circuit pixie" (love the name) to the twistier "Sea-Side street galaxy". you have various choices of the type of game you wish to play, from single race where you can set the course and laps etc to the championship mode where you have to race round 4 tracks with the aim to as many points as possible in each race to end up in the top 5.

A Very different game to the likes of MSR and F355, but a refreshing change and one that will be played for a long time to come.
