It is a driving simulation game which was ported from an earlier freestanding arcade machine of the same name. In the United States, the game received an age rating of "T" which deemed the title suitable for teenage years and above. The game boasts the most simple yet engaging of concepts. Players in this title are required to assume the role of one of four taxi drivers and tour through two distinct cities in search of fares. Crazy Taxi 2 (DC) ... how Crazy Taxi 2 isn t really much of an advancement, technologically or otherwise, on the original game, it s difficult to recommend unless you saw it for a few quid (which, 8 years on, is now quite a distinct possibility), but it s still a damn fun outing that somehow makes a taxi simulator game incredibly fun! You re essentially time-restricted, with the challenge being to pick up as many fares and make as much money as possible! Gran Turismo had a certifiable foothold on the racing game market in the late 90s and early 00s, the one viable antidote to this was the Dreamcast s Metropolis Street Racer, which not only boasted splended visuals, but a deep single player mode that rivalled that of GT. The series did outlive the Dreamcast, also, renamed as Project Gotham Racing on the X-Box. The game is best remembered for its "Kudos" system which transpired over into the Gotham games - a points system where racers are rewarded not only for getting through a race quickly, but also for not crashing, and performing stylish stunts as you race around.
