Advantages: Great Roster and Moves

Disadvantages: Bad gameplay and dated engine

This title for the Dreamcast goes by the name of ECW Anarchy Rulz. This is a wrestling game made by Acclaim which I came across by accident. I'm a huge wrestling fan but for some reason prior to this games release t wasn't even on the radar. And maybe foe good reason, the previous ECW game Hardcore Revolution didn't go down too well in stores so how did this effort fair?

Well they tried , thats the best I can say about this. the major problem is the engine in which the game ran. In 1998 WWF Warzone was a brilliant wrestling game ,then WWF Attitude came along and was even better. But when the N64 got the Wrestling License and THQ started the Playstation version they had much better control systems than the old Back Back Square style that Acclaim were putting out.

In this effort they do nothing to update the gameplay at all and this comes across very like aWWF clone, they tried adding new things in like Blood matches and Barb wire matches along with tables ladders steel chairs etc but if the gameplay isn't good people just won't like it.

Great roster with all you're favourites from the Sandman and Tommy Dreamer to RVD and Rhyno, The moves are all pretty well animated too.
All in this is an ok effort but just seemed way behind the times. If you're a "hardcore" ECW Fan then it's probably worth a look though.

Summary: An average wrestling game that only hardcore ECW fans will like.
