Vault, and up to 4 of you can partake in the events, some one at a time, and others, like the racing events and free style swimming, you can all race it out at once - your control pad will not be the same again. But, it isn't as good as the originals, the game has fewer events and the graphics don't seem that much better than the PlayStation versions, and another poor aspect is the camera angle - in some events its near impossible to see when to throw as a line or marker is obscured by a tree or dodgy camera ...more

Premium Review ESPN International Track and Field (DC): track and field not as good as the orginal (115 words)

Rating:

Track and Field is an entertaining game as it has good graphics and is fun to play however, it does get boring after a long while, so it’s lastability is not up to the standards as what you would expect from Konami. It is a big let down after the original Track and Field games, there is not as many events as you would expect from this game, also it is an incredibly hard game to complete and even to get the hang of. The controls in the game a very hard so if you want my advice, if your after a Olympic game for the Dreamcast go for Sydney 2000, it is much better. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Its button bashing time........... (305 words)

The object of this game is fairly straightforward: run fast, jump far, and throw stuff in events like the 100m Dash, 110m Hurdles, Javelin Throw, Long Jump, and Pole Vault. Unlike previous track and field games, ESPN IT&F adds non-track events as well, including the Horizontal Bar (male gymnastics), Trap Shooting, Weightlifting, 100m Freestyle (women's swimming), and Rhythm Gymnastics. It's not that I don't appreciate that the non-track events are in there, because I really enjoy the game's Olympic-style competition. I just feel the game title Track & Field is a bit misleading. Gameplay in ESPN IT&F, like in many previous track and field ...  Read the complete review

ESPN Track and Field is the one of few Konami titles to be released on the Dreamcast, and sadly it's not very good. It has around 12 events, the usual ones, but it's just not anywhere near as good as the Track and Field 2 game on the original PlayStation 1 console. The game is worth getting if you love running the 100m Dash, 110m Hurdles, or throwing the Javelin, performing the Long Jump and Pole Vault, and up to 4 of you can partake in the events, some one at a time, and others, like the racing events and free style swimming, you can all race it out at once - your control pad will not be the same again. Premium Review ESPN International Track and Field (DC): Not as good as PSX (233 words)
by - written on 10/12/00 (Useful, 16 readings)
Rating:

International Track and Field has finally reached the Dreamcast and what a disappointment. The Playstation version had a great option where you could change the button combinations to suit your playing style but unfortunately, Konami have left this out of the Dreamcast version. The default settings are incredibly hard to use as they consist of two regur buttons and the right trigger as the “action” button. This means that when sprinting towards the long jump pit, you lose speed as you have to reach your finger around to hit the trigger to perform the leap. It’s the same with the other events and the 110m Hurdles is absolutely laughable. Hit the ...  Read the complete review
