Advantages: Good fun for 2 players
Disadvantages: Lame, same as before = graphics = average.
Again, Fighting Vipers 2 is the second kind of Sega fighting game that is the sequel of the original Saturn game, but appearing on the Dreamcast, if you know what I mean. VF3tb for me was a great game, but Fighting Vipers 2 doesn’t really seem that brilliant. Perhaps it’s because I prefer the slower style of gameplay in fighting games, there’s more time to think, but FV2 is just not as good a sequel as it should be. It’s lazy, whereas in VF3 you can tell that the developers made more of an effort. The fighters are practically all unchanged and the gameplay remains the same – some great fighters like Bahn, but to be honest, I should have rented this one and so should you. There are practically no improvements other than in the eye candy department, so you should rent it if you’re considering buying. The graphics aren’t bad, but not as great as Tekken Tag, Soul Calibur, Dead Or Alive etc… The fighters all have a certain character two them – each has a different style, some use skateboards or poles to smash the opponent on the head with, and some just use bear fists. If you liked the first, play the first – you don’t need this as well, it’s more of the same because it is the same. Nothing great here, but if you missed the original, then it may be worth a look – or a rent, 2 Stars maximum!
