If you've loved Championship Manager and their ilk on any system you care to name, then you would be right in expecting a football management game for the Dreamcast that is worthy of this systems' awesome ability to entertain. Unfortunately, Giant Killers looks like it was coded in 1985. As management sims go, this has the least likely looking, and most maddeningly unsatisfying payoff, ever (perhaps) devised. Management sims are a rare breed of game where the graphics and usual accoutrements you automatically expect of other games, are not supposed to matter. Thing is though - they do matter. Simple text only games died out for good reason decades ago and ... Read the complete review

Giant Killers has become one of the only managerial games to hit the Dreamcast, and yes, it probably is the only one - at least, the only football managing game on the console, and it's pretty good too. It's well presented with clear, simple menu screens, but don't go expecting a Championship Manager, as Giant Killers is not as vast as the king of manager games. You can select any team in the English leagues, which includes the Premiership, first, second, third divisions and the Football conference, all the teams are up to date for last season - i.e. the 2000/2001 seasons, and you must guide you club to the top, selecting one of three difficulty modes. To me Giantkillers is the best sports tactical game out on the dreamcast. You can be any team you want as long as its in the conference, division 3, division 2, division1, or the premiership. It has all the up to date players on it from the 2000-2001 season and is realistic with the players you try and sign for example if you are Boston United you will find it very difficult to sign Alan Shearer or Andy Cole. There is three different modes easy, medium, and hard. You can only do training in the meduim and hard versions.. its runs through the commentry like videprinter style over all i would give thiis game 9 out of 10 rating its marvalous. ...
