Like any Dreamcast owner, I now have in my possession a plethora of games. This one, The House of the Dead 2, is not what you call a ?mainstream? game, suitable for all ages. Well, to be blunt, it?s about zombies, guns and gore. Excited? Bedazzled? Disgusted? In actual fact, I don?t care what you think ? I love this game. Well, the game is a shoot-?em-up. What that means is that you control where you shoot, and what you shoot at; nothing more. You, the main character, basically fire at zombies a lot, save people by firing at zombies and on the way try and kill the source of the zombies. Whether in one-player mode or in two-player mode, this game appeals ... Read the complete review

With Sega's 2001 announcement that the Dreamcast is to be discontinued early in 2002, and that they will be moving out of the hardware market completely, prices of Dreamcast consoles have plummeted. Coincidentally, the second hand software market for the Dreamcast has skyrocketed, and prices of games have dropped accordingly. 'House of the Dead 2' was one of my favourite arcade games of 2000, and so I'd always been eager to pick up the Dreamcast conversion. So, having recently splashed out on a Dreamcast, I set about finding a second hand copy of the game. I eventually found one at Computer Exchange, complete with light gun, for thirty pounds. ... I was bound to like this game - I was wasting FAR too much money in the arcade version. But that doesn’t mean go out and buy the game - you should rent it... The Plot continues from the first game. Only this time, the scenario is set in a different place. Basically, a man named Goldman, concerned about the evolution of the human race (???), starts conducting genetic experiments on humans, in a bid to try and improve it. The result of these experiments is that angry armies of undead zombies have been created, and have escaped to terrorise the locals. Of course, no one knows of the experiments, and the locals are puzzled at the appearance of these zombies. ... Read the complete review

Whoa! Whoa! What has the world come to? Fast pace zombie shooting! Which is COOL I might add. House of the Dead 2, no words came discribe this action paked shooting game. Simply breath taking. The graphics, sound and most importantly, gameplay. Best of all other shooting games. The enemies have more details compare to the ones in the first game. The bosses are way cool too! Now you can see zombies opening up their mouths, rolling their eyeballs, chrunching fist etc. For those who things the original game is good, get a load on this. Unfortunately, the game's pace have been upgraded so much that it makes the game's difficutly way harder, and that makes killing ... Read the complete review

House of the Dead 2 involves the gun-slinging actions of the SMS, a group designated to kill all bad things like zombies. That's what makes this game extremely fun and stuff like that. Shooting zombies. How can that not be fun? Three main modes occupy HOTD2, Boss mode, Arcade mode and Original Mode. Boss mode is simple, choose a boss that you've fought in arcade mode and try and kill it in the fastest time possible. As you kill more bosses the oppertunity to fight the same boss at a harder difficulty setting becomes available. Arcade mode is also straight forward - go through the game. The thing about HOTD2 is that you're actions ... Read the complete review
