Okay, I will now begin my review on Tony Hawks Pro Sk.... Oh yes, sorry this is my review on Matt Hoffmans Pro BMX. Mind you, this mistake isn't so hard to make, as both games are so similair. The only changes made to this game from Tony Hawks is the ones where changes were completely unavoidable. Of course I am talking about the change from 4 wheels to two, from a plank of wood to a frame, and the difference in the riders. There are also different levels. But here is where the changes stop. The level designs are almost indentical, not in looks obviously, but in the way they are designed, it is hard to explain, but if you play the game you will ... Read the complete review

Note: I wrote this for the PS1, but I can't find it in that directory, so I'll post it here. Cheers. Mat Hoffman Pro BMX is the latest biking game to grace the PS1, and it does so in style. Activision have done themselves justice with this amazing game, and from the opening video sequence, you will notice the close resemblance to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Similarities are noticeable immediately. Like THPS, Hoffman plays like a dream, and the graphics are amazing. If we had to find a new THPS, this would undoubtedly be it, hands down. The first mode you will encounter is Career Mode. You are to choose from a vast selection of the most ... Read the complete review

I bought Matt Hoffman around a month ago and I was utterly dissapointed with it. The main reason for my hatred of this game is because of the way that all it is, is Tony Hawks 2 on BMX. "Great!" I here you say, which was exactly my reaction, this however, is not the case. Firstly you no longer have the ability to create your own character. This is a terrible shame as what made TH2 (Tony Hawks 2) good, for me, was spending hours building up my character in carrer mode. It is also incredibly annoying that the only way you can improve a computers character is by unlocking new bikes. The other thing that they choose to do when creating this game, was to ... This is one good game. Sure, it's not as good as Tony Hawk's but it comes pretty damn close. It is develpoed and published by the same staff and the graphics engine is the same, and the gamplay engine both come from the same direction too. This game also has the same skate park editor. The scoring system will also come incredibly fimiliar when you play. There are 10 levels for you to enjoy and about 12 characters. If you are lucky you get a secret visit from Tony Hawk on a old-style BMX. I might also add that the advert is OK, which is a world-first. An enjoyable advert, hah! In conclusion if you liked Tony Hawk's P.S. 1 + 2 then you ... Read the complete review

Mat Hoffman's pro bmx is a great game especially if you like any of the tony hawk's games. It is made by the same people as make Tony Hawks pro skater so the game is vey similar, apart from you are on a bmx (obviously). The idea of the game is also the same, instead of colecting tapes (see my opinion on Tony Haw's) you colllect covers (off a magazine). More cover unlock new bikes, parts and levels. There are two competitions like on Tony Hawk's, which must be compleated in first second or third place. If it was up to me though i prefer Tony Hawks. Mat Hoffman's can get quite anoying at times (partly my fault because i keep falling off). This game was ... Read the complete review
