Advantages: Incredibly realilistic!!!

Disadvantages: What?!

OK so this isn't a very important opinion - you know, it's not a topic of controversy or something like that, but here I go anyway.

I have heard a lot of viewpoints on this game (Metropolis Street Racer - Dreamcast) and from this I have been able to see that most people love this game. But I have also read a few opinions that suggest that the game isn't quite as good as people think.

I will outline a few points, and discuss what each means for the game.

1. The graphics - no doubt if you have seen this game, then you were probably very impressed by the graphics. They are very polished.
For starters, the vehicles included in the game are very well designed. Each car has been displayed with a very high number of polygons, and even includes minute detail, like the number plate (which you can customise), or the inside of the car in which you see the driver(you can even see the driver changing gear!).

Next the tracks - you get the chance to drive around three real cities, London, San Fransisco and Tokyo. Now a great deal of work has obviously gone into these. The developer of the game (Bizzare Creations)has gone to extraordinary measures to make sure that when you drive around, say London, that you actually drive around London.
Obviously I don't mean REAL London, but as near to real as you can get.
When driving in London you will see such famous places as Big Ben, Westminster, and even the London Eye!

So I hope that establishes that the graphics are of a very high standard and cannot really be faulted.

2. The sound - this is a point that has caused some conflict. Some people love it, some people hate it. Well, I personally think it is very good, but then my tastes are obviously different from everyone else.

The music takes the from of your car stereo, i.e. The radio.
So you get to listen to the local radio/s. Now I think that this is really cool, because it makes the
game more realistic. In London you listen such stations as Jazz Fm and the Underground sound (or something like that). They even have a couple of real adverts like Diet Tango and an advert for Bullet in the Gun by Planet Perfecto!

Some of the music can be a little boring, but then I'd rather listen to some relaxing music then Gran Turismo style music - which is all a bit annoying.

3. The gameplay - now this is obviously the most important factor. The gameplay is very good - basically you get what are called 'Kudos' points for how you drive.
When you drive well you get Kudos points, when you drive bad you get them taken away.
Not exactly rocket science is it?
You get them for style (e.g. powersliding), and skill (complete the race well). Then you get penalties - each time you hit the wall or another car you get a penalty, i.e. you get Kudos taken away from your score.
As you total up more Kudos points, the game progresses. Thus you can't just complete this game in a day.

Which brings me onto the last point:

4. Lastability - a measure of how long the game lasts.
This game is HUGE!
It will take you absolutely ages to finish this game.
There are 25 chapters with about 10 challenges each. I have had this game for about 2 weeks and have only completed chapert 1!
Now maybe I don't play this game 24 hours a day, but then I do have a life which includes many other interests and hobbies.

Summary

This game is quite hard, but it's not that hard. It's just realistic.
You will be amazed by the graphics and maybe even the sound, and will be playing this game for ages. The number of different things to do on this game is incredible. You even enter the time and date when you start the game so it plays in real time where ever you are in the world.

I could go on...but I'm not going to.

Buy this game! It's not that hard.

As
the games says:
"It's not about how fast you drive, it's about how you drive fast!"

I'm glad to read someone else's opinion which reflects the shared enthusiasm for this superb game.
Congratulations on a thoroughly well deserved crown!
