MGP is by far the best F1 game available, The cars and drivers are fictional, however all of the tracks are real except they are not called by their actual names (except Monaco), they instead go by their country locations. The Dreamcast version seems more polished and it even looks better than it's counterpart on PC. I do not think i have ever been more addicted to a racing game. The cars are fast as they should be, and if you are not a careful driver you will pay dearly for it with this game. One niche that is flooded with quality games, regardless of platform, seems to be Formula One racing games. So the arrival of Monaco Grand Prix begs the question: Why does the world need another F-1 simulation? The answers is a simple: Why not? The game has superb graphics, strong control, and an attention to realism that racing gearheads will appreciate. It's hard for any F-1 game - this one included - to stand apart from the pack, since most games are bound by the conventions of the sport. If youre looking for a full on action arcade game then you should look elsewhere. This relies on the simulation side and because of this you get to adjust your car hire mechanics and add parts to your car to add to the realism of circuit racing. The gameplay is quite good with the sense of speed captured well here. However the tracks are very long and the lap requirements are often gruelling.
