... would have nothing to do real football. I don't want to insult these guys, but when you meet them, you will know they are not atheletes. It especially made me laugh to hear that they did all of the moves in the game using a computer process that keeps track of a body's movements. Despite the insult to the game of football, The game is fun, especially with groups of friends. Though I think real football fans would hate this game, it does have it moments. It seems to be more of a fighting style game than yo...more

NFL Blitz (DC): Average NFL Game (481 words)

General/Summary: I actually met with the creators of this game briefly about a year and a half ago when they where describing their careers to me and a group of students from the Chicago area. They were a little weird but also funny. If I knew anything about computer programming, It would definetely be a career I would be interested in. I, mean these guys were complaining that they had to get up at ten in the morning to go to work. That's just like sleeping in on Sunday for me. Anyway, I was finally able to play this game at a friends house just a few weeks ago. when I first met these men, I new they were no sports experts and when they told us that they made ...  Read the complete review

A blitz of fun, but buggy (319 words)

Midway, self proclaimed kings of the sporting coin-op, are back again with their 3rd Dreamcast release and NFL Blitz 2000 is an interesting one. The rules have changed (most have been removed completely) and time is now of the essence, with a maximum of ten seconds between plays and no TV style presentation to hold things up. Blitz 2k has made the transition to Dreamcast effortlessly, with seemingly everything included. The graphics are nice with no slowdown whatsoever, even when there are 15 players all piled up in the centre of the screen. Also, Midway have thoughtfully added a season play mode, in which you aim to take your fully NFL licensed team to the superbowl, ...  Read the complete review

NFL Blitz (DC): American football (139 words)

Rating:

This is a good American Football game for those who want to play in less than 15 minutes. NFL Blitz offers the chance to smash your opponent without worrying about the nasty penalties. Its not a serious game - its a fun, all out punishfest to reach the endzone and pounce on your opponent. There's a lot of teams to choose from and there is a championship and a season mode that you can choose from to play, also many, many plays to choose from. When you try to make a field goal from really close, most of the time you will miss. Not The Computer though - it hardly ever misses. It is a very good game and even those who do not like the sport will be ...  Read the complete review

NFL Blitz - the Best American Football game there is (305 words)

NFL Blitz 2000 is the hormonal equivalent to an 8 keg, 50-person birthday party! In other words, NFL Blitz 2000 is a great time waiting to happen. The most important criteria for any sport video game is the ability of the player's skill to come right through the control pad. If I practice and reach a certain level of competence, than I should be able to thrash a person new to the game. NFL Blitz 2000 fits this pattern, and fits it well. Player controls are excellent, allowing turbo dashes, spins, straight arms and leaps, anything and everything you need to avoid and bewilder your opponent. The game doesn't do any of this for you however, you need skills ...  Read the complete review

NFL Blitz (DC): what a blitz (205 words)

I am very impressed with this version of Blitz. In fact, I love it so much that I couldn't get any of my work done ever since I bought the game, it is so addictive. There are so many good points in this one. The graphics, although not as good as in the arcade version or the N64 port (which I also own), are awesome. Secondly the commentary was improved with more one-liners than the other ports, the sarcasm and taunts are still intact, for example, when you fail to convert a fourth down. Most importantly, the game is FUN. With the gameplay intact, it's no wonder I am addicted. The controls are wonderful and the force feedback when getting a ...  Read the complete review
