Advantages: low price, plot, leveling up,
Disadvantages: no online play
Phantasy Star online version 2 is a great RPG for the Sega Dreamcast. I have been playing this for years, and even played online before they shut down the servers.
To start, you get to choose from 12 different types of characters, each with different advantages and disadvantages. Some characters are strongly offensive, and some are strongly support, and it is up to you which character and strategy you would like to create.
This game has a good story line. You are aboard a ship called Pioneer 2, looking for why a ship called Pioneer 1 disappeared as it hit the planet Ragol. You are sent on quests that work with the story line, and during the quests learn bits and pieces of what happened.
The leveling up system is fun. You receive a mag, which is a little unit that hovers over your shoulder and increase your stats. You have to feed him, and depending on what he eats, his attribtues increase or decrease. So if you a support character, you might want to feed your mag items that increase its magic ability.
Sadly, the online ability for this game is long gone. It was fun while it lasted, but I'm sure people phased out and SEGA was not making any money keeping it online.
Overall, this is a good game. For the price it's at it now, it's well worth the money!
Summary: A very fun game.
