Rayman's first sojourn into the gaming world was a fairly generic 2D platform experience from a few years back. With Rayman2, UbiSoft sent their odd-looking French fellow into 3D. Appearing originally on the N64 last year, Rayman2 is a beautiful platformer loaded with absolutely acres of gameplay. Although simple in premise, Rayman2 plays like a dream. The control system is intuitive, allowing you full control over jumping (accurate leaps are required), shooting (glowing ball thingies) & flying (Rayman has helicopter styley ears). The level design is beautifully drawn and consistent throughout, the Dreamcast's graphical power being used to da max. Controlling ... Read the complete review

Rayman 2 is, as you may have guessed, the sequel to Rayman which was released on the PSX and Saturn to fill a void in the Platform market. Rayman was introduced to us as a little magic creature who could fire balls from his fist and was noticeably missing some crucial body parts - arms and legs. Not one to let this slow him down he went on to get good sales and so Ubisoft have drummed up a sequel - the aforementioned Rayman 2. For a start, this is the final release of Rayman 2 - the others having been released on the PSX, N64 and the PC to good reception. Again you play as Rayman who, this time around, has been given a small back story and a 'quest' ... Read the complete review

I never actually played the original Rayman game. I own a Sega Saturn but I was put off Rayman by the fact that everyone said it was VERY, VERY difficult. But then I read about this, Rayman 2: The Great Escape. It sounded promising with the N64 and PC versions getting rave reviews so I decided to wait and buy the Dreamcast version because Dreamcast is the 'Next-gen console'. So I bought it and what I played was beyond my expectations. It was magnificent. I played through the first level 'The Woods Of light' and witnessed the unbelievable graphics and brilliant sound. The gameplay was excellent but I thought that it was a bit too easy. I played through ... Read the complete review

It's the sequel to that cheesy (but pretty good) platformer Rayman. And it's got a real bad point - graphics. They're terrible. "What?!?" you say...well they are! A Dreamcast could do a lot better. The same happened on my PC - it was top range but the graphics only equalled Playstation level. Despite the poor transition to Dreamcast, the numerous buttons on the joypad are welcomed, as is the traditional game itself - fun, varied and pretty original. There are loads of things to do and it's great to explore. The worlds are all different and wonderful, and you should ignore the graphics. This game is excellent. One of the few ... This game was ment to be good ,the 64 version anyway and it is good. It is a great 3D rpg. It is good but can take quite a while to get used to as the views are difficult at first. Once you master it though you fly through levels but if you think it's all going to be easy, don't be fooled it does get harder. The game seems to get really difficult and then not get any harder. It is a good game though and gets addictive.I would hardly say it's the best game ever but it's not rubbish either. Good graphics and gameplay, though i would only recom=end it if you like RPG's . If not then think twice about buying this. ... Read the complete review
