... the best fighter in the game if you're new to the game (although picking things up takes very little time indeed). However, there is a plethora of colourful fighters of different shapes and sizes, meaning there's something for everyone! During fights, your progress will be measured by a RUMBLE meter at the bottom of the screen. With each strong hit, you will get an extra letter, and when you have the entire word, you will be able to perform special moves and essentially become invincible for a temporary period. It...more

Ready 2 Rumble Boxing (DC): Ready to Rumble hits back! (293 words)

If you’re a great fan of Ready to rumble then you should have experienced the wacky world of Afro Thunder and get tons of fun out of this wacky, silly, sequel. Getting smacked around the face by Michael Jackson is a weird experience. In real life it looks as if he can barely beat a monk but in Ready to Rumble Round 2 he is a silky swift fighting machine moonwalking around the ring in a twinkling blue Elvis number and sparkly gloves. The game play is the same as the first game but you can also go up a stage with the rumble gloves for twice the punishment. With a whole new host of wacky players and ridiculous moves the game moves into an alarmingly realistic ...  Read the complete review

Whilst working in a store when the Dreamcast was about to hit the UK, it was obvious Ready 2 Rumble was going to be special amongst the launch line up. It was the game that created a buzz, kids dragged in friends after school, they converted initially unwilling parents to try it - it was talked about. Rightly so, for though not the biggest thing to hit the gaming world, it was a refreshing and original title that quickly showed it was fun to play. It no doubt helped shift a few Dreamcasts, but while prolonged play at home reinforced how good the multiplayer was, it also revealed that while a refreshing take on the boxing and beat 'em up genres, it didn't ...  Read the complete review

Ready 2 Rumble Boxing (DC): The Best but gets boring! (322 words)

This game is brilliant. The game play is great; the graphics are great and the sound is great. There is one problem though. It is too short. Yes you do unlock more characters as you complete certain boxers but, it gets very boring to do all of the characters. it would take less than a day to complete one boxer if you played non-stop. but that is only if you wanted to get your boxer up to 100% on everything. I would recommend buying this game. It is very good but don't expect not to get bored of it. There is just too many characters for you to get up in the ranks. If you do complete the whole game then I congratulate you for having the patience and also for ...  Read the complete review

Wow! This is one funny game. If you haven't seen it before, here's what you do. Get a few mates round, have a few beers, then turn on the Dreamcast, with Ready to Rumble Boxing. Select Afro Thunder, or one of the other comical charcters. Now prepare to laugh at the expressions, the mad punches, and the great soundeffects. And careful not to spill your beer! Ready to Rumble is probably the most social game on the Dreamcast. It's great to set up a little tournament and get ready to pummel your mates into the carpet! This game has really strong, colouful graphics, and the sound, especially the speech is brilliant. There are loads of characters to ...  Read the complete review

A truely good boxing game! Now I know there are not many boxing games in existence and this is perhaps this is why I was pessimistic before I started to play; I thought to myself "How can a boxing game be any good, do you press a button to punch and that is it" ... well my fears were truely rumbled. You need extremely good timing to know when to punch and even better timing to know which punch to use (there is a great variety of punches, created by pressing arrow keys at the same time as any one of the punch buttons) You can punch low or high, fast or quick, weak or strong, long range or short range, it's so fun, you can even block high or ...  Read the complete review
