Advantages: Atmospheric, Surpasses all prequels, V. good gamplay
Disadvantages: Short - lived, Repetitive, Not for sensitives!!!
July 26th. The zombies have overtaken the city. I must get out of here. This is my, last escape (tap, tap, tap)... The introduction atmosphere is unbelievble. Play and be amazed with what a game can do. Gatling guns are cool. They rip through zombies, they didn't know what hit 'em. I don't think they would've anyway. Also, the sound of the heads of the zombies being popped by the magnum is extremely satisfying. If you are skilled enough to own the Gatling Gun, then just try ripping through the zombies, trust me: It is COOL!!! The Nemesis also pops up at several times, and every time, you think: DIE YOU DAMN IDIOT! He scares the life out of you in the Police Station, when you quietly walk down the stairs, and run down the corridor, and he leaps through the window, armed with a machine gun. It's the things like this that make this game so effective. Oh, and the last boss is HUGE? The story is amazing, and fits in perfectly with the Racoon City disaster trilogy: After the events of the Racoon City Mansion, zombies start to overtake the city, growing all the time. UPDATE: May 6th --------------------------------------------- The story is amazing, and fits in perfectly with the Racoon City disaster trilogy: After the events of the Racoon City Mansion, zombies start to overtake the city, growing all the time. This takes you in place as Jill Valentine, co-hero of RE along with Chris Redfield. 24 hours before the horrible events of RE2 took place, Jill bursts out of her apartment, and sees all these Zombies, in a blazing fire everywhere around her. She runs to safety just in time, passing all the walking corpses of ex-innocent people and the police force. She must get out of this god-ridden city, no matter how long it takes? After Resident Evil happened, Umbrella corp. knew that the surviving STARS squad knew too much about the deadly (and living) effects of this T-Virus. So, they created a monster that is gua
ranteed to dispose of them for sure: Nemesis. When you encounter this monster, you are only left with one sensible option: run. You might want to choose to fight it, on two conditions: you like the Game Over screen or you have a rocket launcher. You eventually come across a situation where you control Carlos, an Umbrella corp. mercenary, and must find something in the Hospital. After that, 24 hours pass and Unaware the characters are, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield (come in search of Chris after the mansion scenario) has just escaped Racoon City. You must then find your only way out: something that I will not tell you. There are plenty of weapons that you expect like the Handgun, Shotgun and Magnum, and also the Gatling Gun and Rocket Launcher if you really enjoyed this trilogy. Others can be found, not included in the previous games, and others can be upgraded. The ammo powder is also a good addition, where combinations of powder A, B and C can be combined to make different ammo (but it's funny how powder A makes Hand Gun bullets, and happens to be made by the same make as the ammo in other shops). There are plenty of bonuses, if you are on hard mode you can get a VERY cool prize for knocking Nemesis unconscious, and also you will get a short epilogue or conclusion of different characters (including characters not in RE3, like RE2's Ada Wong). When you complete the game you can play the Mercenary game, where you must survive through Racoon City, being a walking bomb. A higher grade means more money, which means good weapons for you. In comparison to the other games, I must say that this is definitely a cut above the others. The graphics are much better even in the same engine, the gameplay is a lot less annoying and also it lasts longer, more addictive. The storyline is also better, the ending rules but you would start sending me hate mails if I told you. It fits in perfectly with RE2, as you find out why on the intro to RE2 Brad Vickers
is a Zombie in the underpass and why also some parts of RE2 eg. The walls have been destroyed on RE3, before RE2 happened. Generally this is most definitely the best of the lot. --------------------------------------------- The gameplay is very good, it is a massive improvement over the prequels, with new moves such as 180 spin and the dodge. It is now analogue controllable, but isn't really much use (have you played Tomb Raider III, IV or V?) so it's best to use the D-Pad. It is easier to turn and navigate to different areas quickly, there isn't any major gameplay improvements, but the little things make the game much better. The graphics are good, RE3 uses the same graphics engine as RE and RE2, but they are much improved. Seamless FMVs are still used, but there are more than there used to be, and the quality is higher too. The voice acting is practically the same, still great. There are about 8 voice actors in the game, who turn out to be all the characters in the game. Who did Nemesis I don't know, but I guess there isn't much point if he/it is only going to say one word: 'STARS!' The game will last you a very long time, and the first time you complete it, it will be about 5 hours. The next time you complete it, fortunately you will have earned the Gatling Gun, or the Rocket Launcher, and will have took you 2 - 4 hours. I have done it in 2 hours approximately, and gained both them items. Completing the game on hard mode is quite a challenge, and will require a bit of patience. I have owned this game a long time, and still play on it, I have more things to unlock. Well, that's my opinion on this horrifying game, I hope you enjoyed it.
