Advantages: stunning graphics, playable, horrorific sounds
Disadvantages: chunks too similar to Resident Evil 2
Well here we have another one of Capcom’s survival horror games. The classics Resident Evil 1 + 2 and now we have another game following on those two classics and it’s called Resident Evil 3. How good is this game then? Well Resident Evil 1 really did alter the world of survival horror games, and then the second sequel was just immense and basically it rocked. What about 3? Read on… --- What about RE3? --- Fair as it seems but I think Resident Evil 3 happened not after Resident Evil 2, but before, but near the end Resident Evil 3 happens after the ending of Resident Evil 2. Correct me if I’m wrong! Anyway back to subject. For all the ones who have played Resident Evil 1+2 must think what amazing two classics have we got here. The storyline for Resident Evil 1 was never fully finished because we didn’t get a good picture of the full story and person who actually created the virus that turned living things into somewhat dead things, and so it continues onto Resident Evil 2 where the whole story is finally at it’s end. Now we go onto Resident Evil 3 that I thought, until I purchased and played the game, it was going to have a new storyline but still linking into Umbrella and such (considering Resident Evil 2 finished the whole story). Unfortunately that wasn’t so, it appears that the game felt exactly like Resident Evil 2 especially when you enter the police station and know your full way around already. Then I thought, is this just Resident Evil 2 with new weapons, a beautiful young lady, and some new rooms in the police station?. It annoyed me a bit but it started to get better in fact. There was more to it than just a crummy police station, which impressed me loads. There was more to do and more places to explore such as the hospital, the train, outside, and the clock tower. So indeed Capcom did not disappoint me after all, but still I felt that Resident Evil 2 was better because it actually had a
storyline linking to Resident Evil 1 where as the Resident Evil 3 was just partially similar to two, but it had different characters, weapons, and unfortunately it didn’t really maintain a good storyline (it just felt like two). Now to the bits that rates it: --- Storyline --- Well I don’t want to spoil you and tell you the storyline, but I could tell you to my opinion it isn’t that good and there isn’t much to it --- Game play --- Good game play, packed with adventures and scary bits, but it does irritate you every time Nemesis comes after you and suddenly you realise you have no ammo left. Capcom shouldn’t have done this. They should have just added more zombies in the game rather than getting Nemesis (this big creature where you have to wound every so often in the game and it wastes your ammo, and never seems to go away), to attack you every now and then. This did however make the game scarier and more like a runaway horror where someone chases you and you try to escape, but it keeps coming for you. --- Graphics --- This is very essential to make the game good because every scenery in the game is graphics. The graphics undoubtedly is good and it’s just like Resident Evil 2, pure, smooth, and good detail on the characters, zombies, backgrounds, or even weapons. --- Sound --- Not much change her in comparison to Resident Evil 2. Still amazing though. Very horrifying especially where you run into something unusual and the music gets faster or it suddenly gets louder and scares the wits into you. I wouldn’t fault it but apart from Silent Hill that has the best horror music in computer games, but Resident Evil must be at least the second best horror music and sound effects. --- Overall conclusion --- Capcom has impressed almost everyone with their amazing survival horror games named Resident Evil. They have put so much effort into them that it i
s rewarding and worth buying. I hope they do even better it the upcoming years with survival horror games, and I also hope they make a new survival horror game with new storyline etc. For Resident Evil 3 I will rate it a high 90%.
